Chapter 111
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 111:
It was only a matter of time before Sadie was forced out, banished from Myrtlewood Estate, disowned by the Wall family, and wiped from Noahâs world.
Inhaling deeply to contain her bubbling glee, Kyla set her plan into motion.
She strode purposefully to the kitchen, her movements graceful and precise as she tied an apron around her waist, the picture of a perfect homemaker.
Though the actual cooking was left to the servants, she flitted about with authoritative ease, issuing commands with the poise of a seasoned chefâadjusting a seasoning here, lessening the sugar there.
Every so often, sheâd pick up a spoon and stir a pot aimlessly, her facade as the doting wife flawlessly painted, imagining herself preparing a loving meal for her husband.
The sound of the entrance door alerted her to a new arrival.
Her heart skipped in anticipationâIsabel had arrived.
Setting down the spoon, Kyla rushed to the entrance with eager steps. âMrs. Wall, youâve arrived!â Kyla exclaimed, her face lighting up with feigned joy and hospitality.
Isabel looked on with a gentle smile, eyes brimming with apparent admiration.
âKyla, youâre such a sweet girl. Are you really cooking all by yourself?â Isabelâs eyes brightened at the sight of the apron on Kyla.
With a voice brimming with warmth, she insisted, âDonât fuss over that, dear. Let the kitchen staff take care of it. Why donât you come and sit with me for a while?â
âOf course, Mrs. Wall,â Kyla responded with a respectful nod. She carefully hung the apron on the back of a nearby chair before turning to address a servant lingering by the doorway.
âKari, would you please inform Sadie that we have a distinguished guest awaiting her presence downstairs?â she instructed with polite firmness.
âRight away, Miss Wade,â Kari Lewis, the servant, replied as she headed upstairs without hesitation.

With a soft smile, Kyla turned back, slipping her arm through Isabelâs and guiding her smoothly to the sofa.
âMrs. Wall, how have you been these days?â she inquired with concern.
âIâve been doing just fine,â Isabel answered, her smile soft as she gave Kylaâs hand a reassuring pat.
âAnd how about you? How have things been with Noah?â she probed, her casual tone belying the keen sharpness in her gaze.
âVery well, Mrs. Wall,â Kyla murmured, her head bowed in modesty while a faint smile danced on her lips. âNoah has been wonderful to me.â
She hesitated, her voice faltering slightly before she continued, âItâs just that heâs been swamped with work and seldom finds time for us.â Her tone wavered with a soft complaint, drawing Isabelâs empathetic concern.
âThat boy never stops working, does he?â Isabel lamented, her head gently swaying in disapproval.
âOnce he returns, Iâll make sure to speak to him about this.â
âThank you, Mrs. Wall,â Kyla responded, her voice thick with emotion, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears.
âI do understand, though. He has an enormous burden, keeping everything in a business this big running smoothly,â she explained with a forgiving smile. âIâm just grateful to stand by him through it all.â
âKyla, you really are such a kind-hearted girl,â Isabel declared, visibly touched as she clasped Kylaâs hands in her own. âNo need to worryâIâll take care of everything to get you and Noah married soon.â
At Isabelâs promise, a wave of elation swept through Kyla, though she composed herself with demure grace.
