Chapter 163
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 163:
âTell me! Whatâs really going on?â
âMrs. Wall, I heard⦠Three years ago, Alex frequently visited Sadie and seemed to often take care of herâ¦â
âCare? What kind of care? When a man and a woman are alone, what could they be doing?!â Isabel erupted, her anger spilling over. âNoah must divorce her!â
Outside the mall, Alexâs concern was evident. âSadie, are you alright?â
Sadie inhaled deeply, steadying herself, and mustered a weak smile. âIâm fine.â
They walked in silence until Sadie broke it. âHow did you find me here?â
Alex paused, then chose honesty. âI saw the news about your studioâs designs being leaked online. I was concerned about you, so I came to see if you were alright. Your assistant mentioned you were at Hermes⦠What happened?â
Sadie chuckled dryly. âThe usual schemes. But I wonât be brought down so easily.â
Isabelâs words echoed in her mind, causing a sharp pain in her heart. âGet in the car. Iâll take you home,â Alex offered softly, pulling Sadie from her reverie.
Sadie nodded, slipped into the car, and closed the door behind her. The ride home was quiet.
Breaking the silence, Sadie suddenly asked, âAlex, do you know where Mrs. Lawrence often goes?â
Alex blinked, surprised by the question. âMrs. Lawrence? The wife of the Lawrence Group CEO?â Sadie nodded in confirmation.
âI heard sheâs quite fond of limited-edition handbags, and I happen to have one sheâs been searching for. I thought Iâd try my luck and see if I can meet with her.â
âI do know a few of her favorite spotsâ¦â Alex shared a list of places, which Sadie noted carefully.
Over the next few days, Sadie embarked on a thorough quest, visiting each venue Alex mentioned, hoping for a chance encounter. Her determination paid off. At a high-end art gallery, she finally crossed paths with Leanna.

âMrs. Lawrence, hello. Iâm Sadie,â Sadie introduced herself with polite assertiveness.
Leanna gave her a brief look, her response brusque. âI know who you are, the one whose designs have been leaked. If this is about work, you should speak with my husband.â
Her voice was frosty, signaling her lack of interest in further discussion. Taking a deep breath to steady her nerves, Sadie produced the Hermes bag.
âI heard you appreciate this style, so I brought it for you.â
Leannaâs attention shifted to the bag, her expression revealing a hint of surprise, though she quickly masked it. She checked her watch.
âIâll give you five minutes.â
Sadieâs excitement grew.
âMrs. Lawrence, in addition to this bag, I have another gift for you,â Sadie continued with composure, retrieving a design portfolio from her bag.
âIâm truly sorry about the leak. To rectify that and to demonstrate my sincerity, Iâve created new drafts and also crafted an extra setâ¦â She paused, gauging Leannaâs reaction. Seeing no interruption, she continued. âI understand that your ten-year wedding anniversary with Mr. Lawrence is approaching, and Iâve taken the liberty of designing a special collection to mark the occasion. I hope these can serve as a token of my apologies and goodwill from my studio.â
Leanna finally showed some interest. She picked up the portfolio and began flipping through its pages. With each page turned, Sadieâs heart raced faster.
The portfolio was the culmination of her tireless efforts over the past few days. When Leanna finished, she placed the portfolio back on the table, her expression unreadable.
