Chapter 206
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 206:
Kyla let out a forced smile, yet her eyes reddened slightly as if she were holding back tears.
Isabel, ever perceptive, immediately sensed something was amiss. âKyla, whatâs wrong? Did Noah upset you?â she asked, her voice laden with concern.
Kyla shook her head slightly and sighed, hesitating.
âIf somethingâs bothering you, you should tell me. Donât keep it all to yourself,â Isabel urged, patting her hand gently.
Kyla seemed to muster her resolve, biting her lip before speaking in a hushed tone. âMrs. Wall, I⦠I ran into Sadie at the hospital today.â
âSadie?â Isabelâs expression tightened, her voice tinged with displeasure.
âYes, Sadie. Sheâs with Alex. And⦠andâ¦â
âAnd what?â Isabel pressed, her impatience mounting as she picked up her coffee cup again.
Kyla took a deep breath, looking like she was gathering her courage.
âThey have a son. Heâs about three years old.â
âA son? Are you certain?â
Isabelâs hands trembled, causing her coffee cup to tilt, spilling some of its contents onto her hand, but she seemed not to notice.
Kyla quickly snatched a few tissues and dabbed at Isabelâs hand. âBe careful, Mrs. Wall,â she murmured softly.
Isabel sat stunned, her eyes glazed as if struggling to grasp the revelation.
Kyla bowed her head, and tears finally spilled over, dotting Isabelâs hand.
Isabel, jolted back to reality, clasped Kylaâs hand tightly, her grip firm. âWhat did you say? Say it again!â

Kyla stifled a sob and said, âI saw it myself. They had a child with them, a little boy, about three years old. He⦠he resembles Alex.â
Isabelâs face paled, her breathing heavy with rising anger. She stood abruptly and began to pace the living room, murmuring, âHow could this happen⦠How could something like this happen?â
Tears rolled down Kylaâs cheeks.
Isabel stopped in her tracks, gesturing toward the door as she yelled, âThat shameless bitch! Sheâs a complete seductress! I knew she was up to no good with Noah!â
Kyla gently took hold of Isabelâs sleeve and whispered, âPlease, donât be upset. Itâs not worth it.â
Angrily, Isabel jerked her hand away, asking, âHow can I not be? Sadie has tricked Noah, and she evenâ¦â
Overcome with anger, Isabel found herself unable to finish her thoughts, her cheeks flushed with fury.
Quick to offer solace, Kyla placed a gentle hand on Isabelâs back, trying to calm her. âPlease, calm down. We donât have all the details yet. Perhaps thereâs been some mistake.â
Rejecting the comfort, Isabel shoved Kylaâs hand away, retorting, âA mistake? She has a child with her! How could that be a mistake?â The force of Isabelâs push made Kyla stumble, fresh tears gathering in her eyes.
Bowing her head, Kyla murmured softly, âDonât worry. It might merely be a coincidence.â
With a dismissive laugh, Isabel replied, âA coincidence? Are we really to believe that such coincidences exist? Sadie has always been a schemer. I figured her out a long time ago!â
Kyla chose silence, pressing her lips together. Isabel, noticing her vulnerable expression, felt a twinge of compassion. She enveloped Kyla in a warm embrace, rubbing her back gently as she said, âCould this be the reason why Noah didnât come with you? Donât worry. You have my full support, Kyla.â
