Chapter 301
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 301:
Sadie stood frozen.
Alex?
Ungrateful bastard?
What was Kyla talking about?
A sudden wave of unease coiled in Sadieâs stomach.
Her fingers instinctively tightened around her phone.
Without hesitation, she dialed Alexâs number.
âBeep⦠beep⦠beepâ¦â The ringing droned in her ear, each second stretching unbearably.
No answer. Sadieâs pulse quickened, her grip on the phone tightening. She redialed. Again. And again. Each call met with the same cold silence.
âAlex⦠whatâs going on with you?â Sadie whispered, her voice trembling as worry drained the color from her face.
She couldnât just barge into Howe Group.
That would only upset Susannah.
Forcing herself to breathe deeply, she knew she needed to understand what had happened before taking action.
She marched over to her car, pulled open the door, and slid into the driverâs seat.
The engine roared to life, and the black SUV tore away from Stonemont Estate, speeding toward her studio.
Inside the car, Sadieâs grip on the steering wheel was unyielding, her knuckles turning ghostly white.
The tension radiated from her in waves as Kylaâs taunting words echoed relentlessly in her mind. What the hell happened to Alex?

As Sadie swung open the door to her studio, a tense silence enveloped her.
The typically lively studio was unnervingly quiet. A handful of employees whispered among themselves, their faces etched with tension and unease.
âMiss Hudsonâ¦â A young designer approached her hesitantly, a piece of paper gripped tightly in his hand. âIâm resigning.â
Caught off guard, Sadie took the resignation letter from him. Before she could even look at it, several more employees came forward, presenting their own letters.
Their expressions were uneasy, and their eyes darted around. Clearly, they were holding back words they couldnât quite bring themselves to say.
âIâm resigning too, Miss Hudson.â
âIâm sorry, Miss Hudson.â
Within minutes, the studio had cleared out, leaving only a few behind. Holding a stack of resignation letters, Sadie felt a surge of inexplicable discomfort.
âWhat is happening? Why is everyone leaving?â Sadie tried to stifle the panic welling up inside her and inquired as calmly as possible.
âMiss Hudson, thereâs really no option left for us,â an older designer said with a heavy sigh.
âWeâve just secured a deal with Shaw Group, and our partnership with Lawrence Group is ongoing. But still, youâ¦â
The remaining staff exchanged looks, their eyes filled with defeat. âIn any case, we canât stick around any longer.â
