Chapter 425
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 425:
âI⦠I must have forgotten it,â he stuttered, clearly panicking.
Sadieâs instincts screamed that something was terribly amiss.
âWho are you really? What are you trying to do?â Sadieâs voice grew louder and trembled with fear.
Abruptly, the man revealed a gleaming dagger hidden under his coat. The blade shimmered threateningly as he lunged at Sadie.
âArgh!â Sadie yelled, recoiling too late as the blade sliced her arm, sending a jolt of pain through her and drenching her sleeve in blood.
With his disguise compromised, the manâs expression turned malevolent. He turned and dashed away.
âHelp! Someone help me!â Sadie shouted for help as her strength faded and her vision grew dim.
Blood spilled onto the clean white sheets, spreading quickly.
As her consciousness slipped away, Sadie collapsed onto the floor, succumbing to the darkness enveloping her.
At Wall Group.
âMr. Wall, bad news!â Samuel burst into Noahâs office, his entrance hasty, his face ashen.
Noah continued his paperwork, seemingly undisturbed.
âWhatâs causing your panic?â
âMrs. Wall got injured at the hospital,â Samuel explained, his voice cracking, his forehead beaded with sweat.
Noahâs pen stopped abruptly, leaving an ink blot on the paper.
He looked up sharply, his eyes cold and piercing.

âRepeat that.â
âThere was an attempt on Mrs. Wallâs and Mrs. Stewartâs lives,â Samuel said, his voice trembling, avoiding Noahâs intense gaze.
The cold in Noahâs office was evident, as if his very presence had caused the temperature to drop sharply.
As he sprang from his seat, his pen tumbled from the desk, unnoticed, and hit the floor.
His voice was low and filled with barely restrained fury as he demanded,
âWhat happened?â
âA man posing as a doctor sneaked into Mrs. Stewartâs room,â Samuel blurted out, his words rushing to keep pace with his thoughts. âMrs. Wall caught him attempting to inject Mrs. Stewart with something unknown. He attacked her with a dagger and escaped.â
âWhatâs the situation now?â Noahâs voice was cold.
Samuel froze for a moment, not understanding which part Noah was asking about. After a while, he replied,
âThe attacker⦠he got away.â
Noahâs look was piercing.
âIâm not asking about him. How is she?â
Realizing his mistake, Samuel quickly replied,
âMrs. Wallâs condition has stabilized; it was just a minor cut. Sheâs already been treated and bandaged. The doctors said because she reacted so fast, the cut was shallow and missed any vital areas.â
Noahâs voice was cold and firm as he commanded,
âGet guards to the hospital now. I donât want so much as a fly getting through.â
âAbsolutely, Mr. Wall,â Samuel answered, preparing to leave.
