Chapter 427
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 427:
She looked Kyla up and down thoughtfully. âI didnât expect your return from Slimron to be so quick. It seems Mr. Wall still holds you in high regard.â
Kylaâs face tensed, then she managed a forced smile. âYou must be joking, Miss Quinn.â
Vivi raised an eyebrow. âHow about we grab a coffee? Thereâs something I want to discuss.â
After a brief hesitation, Kyla agreed.
They chose a table by the window in a nearby café.
âTwo lattes, please,â Vivi said to the waiter before turning to Kyla. âSince you left the city, Sadieâs grown even more arrogant.â
Kyla felt a knot in her stomach. âWhat has she done?â
Vivi laughed lightly. âSheâs now seen as Noahâs better half by everyone in the elite circles. Her influence is growing; sheâs feared. Having been Majestic Egoâs chief designer and now Mrs. Wall, sheâs become quite the figure.â
Kyla clenched her coffee cup, which had just arrived, her fingers pressing into the porcelain. âWhat makes her feel so superior?â
âExactly.â Vivi took a sip of her coffee, setting the cup back down gently. âMen always pursue whatâs fresh and exciting. Once the excitement fades, Noah will surely return to you.â
Kyla hesitated, biting her lip. âIt seems like Noah genuinely cares for Sadie.â
âCare for her? Thatâs merely a facade.â Vivi scoffed. âDo you think men are sincere in their affections? Youâve changed so much for himâlook at what itâs brought you.â
Viviâs words stung, and Kyla sat in pained silence, feeling each word like a stab to her chest.
âWill you just stand by and let Sadie take everything?â Viviâs tone was coaxing. âAre you willing to lose to Sadie?â

A fire ignited in Kylaâs eyes as she raised her head sharply. âNo, I refuse to let that happen. Noah belongs to me.â
âExactly,â Vivi responded, nodding approvingly. âWe have a mutual enemy. Why not join forces once more?â
Kyla stared at Vivi, conflicted emotions flickering across her face.
âWhat kind of collaboration are we talking about?â Kyla inquired.
âDo you know about the International Jewelry Design Competition?â asked Vivi.
Kyla remained silent and waited for her to continue, her grip on her coffee cup tightening slightly.
âThereâs a potential for her to shine there⦠or for us to intervene,â Vivi said, her eyes twinkling with mischief.
Kyla furrowed her brows, perplexed. âWhat exactly are you implying?â
Vivi leaned in closer. âImagine if something unforeseen were to occur during the contest. Consider the implications.â
A chill ran through Kyla as she envisioned scenarios of Sadieâs potential misfortune.
âYou mean to suggestâ¦â
Vivi raised her hands defensively, feigning innocence. âIâm merely pointing out that accidents happen, right?â
Kylaâs grip tightened on her coffee cup, her knuckles turning white as her mind raced with thoughts.
Would Noah remain by Sadieâs side if her reputation suffered during the competition?
The answer seemed clear.
âI appreciate your advice, Miss Quinn.â Kyla exhaled sharply. âIâve made up my mind about my next steps.â
âYouâre welcome,â Vivi responded, sipping her coffee with a subtle smile playing on her lips.
