Chapter 522
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 522:
Noah nodded, signaling his comprehension. âEnsure she receives excellent care and update me immediately with any changes.â
âOf course, Mr. Wall,â the doctor affirmed and then departed.
Noah finished his cigarette and disposed of it in the trash.
He turned to Nanette with a stern expression. âStay here and watch over her. She is not to leave the hospital without my permission. Understood?â
âUnderstood, Mr. Wall,â Nanette replied promptly.
With nothing more to say, Noah exited the hospital.
He slid into his car, ignited the engine, and sped away.
At the hospital entrance, a black car lingered quietly.
The window rolled down slowly, unveiling a face both exquisite and cold. Aliza watched Noahâs car vanish into the darkness, her lips twisting into a sneer.
âThe hospital is now under the watch of Noahâs bodyguards, so it looks like thereâs no chance to take another shot at Sadie for the time being⦠Lucky her.â Aliza scoffed softly, clearly displeased with the situation.
âDrive to Willowbranch Villa,â she commanded the driver, her tone icy and determined.
âRight away, Miss Perry,â the driver responded, firing up the engine and pulling away from the hospital.
Nestled at the foot of a mountain on the cityâs outskirts, Willowbranch Villa was Alexâs private sanctuary. The property was ensconced in lush greenery, providing a tranquil setting.
Alizaâs intent in visiting was clear: she needed to see Alex.
Following a significant rift with his father, Terrance, over Sadie, Alex had retreated here, isolating himself from everyone.

Aliza was aware of Alexâs deep feelings for Sadie, which she found intolerable. She could not accept Alex forsaking their familiesâ planned marriage alliance for Sadie, nor his apparent betrayal.
Determined to sway Alex back to her side, Aliza arrived at the gates of Willowbranch Villa and stepped out of the car.
The security guards, recognizing her, swiftly opened the gates.
âGood to see you again, Miss Perry,â one guard greeted with respect.
Aliza nodded silently and continued inside. In the villa, Alex was found in the living room, seated on the sofa with a glass of red wine in hand, deep in contemplation.
Hearing footsteps, Alex looked up to see Aliza entering. His expression tightened.
âWhy are you here?â His tone was cool.
Aliza approached and sat down on the sofa across from him, her smile charming yet calculated.
âWhatâs wrong, Alex? Arenât you pleased to see me?â she teased.
Alex remained silent, focusing instead on his wine.
âAlex, must things really come to this?â Alizaâs voice softened. âI understand youâre upset, but you canât discard what we have over Sadie.â
âWhat we have?â Alex scoffed. âWhat do we really have, Aliza? Weâre just pieces in our familiesâ schemes.â
âHow can you say that?â Alizaâs smile faded, her tone turning sharp. âYou know my feelings for you.â
âI know,â Alex acknowledged. âBut my feelings arenât the same.â
âYouâ¦â Aliza was momentarily speechless, her complexion paling.
âAlex, remember our familiesâ expectations for this marriage. Arenât you concerned about defying your father with such behavior?â she pressed, attempting to sway Alex with the weight of family obligations.
