Chapter 546
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 546:
He believed being there was the least he could do for her.
The harsh lights of the corridor cast a stark glow on his weary face.
âMr. Wall,â Samuelâs deep voice suddenly broke through Noahâs reverie. âThe thugs have confessed. They were acting under orders from the Howe family.â
Noahâs hands clenched into fists.
âThe Howe familyâ¦â
âThereâs more,â Samuel added, a hint of anger in his voice. âThey all had a unique perfume scent on them.â
âA unique perfume scent?â Noahâs expression grew intense, sensing an unusual clue.
âYes, itâs not a common brand,â Samuel confirmed. âAnd weâve found out the abandoned factory is located on land owned by the Perry family.â
âThe Perry family⦠You meanâ¦â Noah murmured.
âMr. Wall, I suspect itâs Aliza Perry,â Samuel stated confidently, his voice low. âSheâs known for her distinctive perfume, and she has both the motive and the means for this.â
âAliza Perryâ¦â Noah echoed thoughtfully.
âUnbelievable,â Noah said sharply, his laugh tinged with fury, as cold as shards of ice. âThe Howe family and the Perry family⦠both will pay for this.â
âThereâs another matter, Mr. Wallâ¦â Samuel hesitated, then added, âTerrance is here.â
âTerrance?â Noahâs expression hardened. âWhat does he want?â
âHeâs⦠at the hospital entrance. Heâs asking to see you.â Samuelâs voice lowered, picking up on Noahâs growing anger.
âTo see me?â Noah scoffed, his tone filled with scorn. âHe has the audacity to face me?â

âTell him to get out of my face!â His command thundered through the corridor like a storm. âTell him I have no desire to see him. He needs to leave immediately!â
âRight away, Mr. Wall,â Samuel responded promptly, turning to carry out the order.
At the hospital entrance, Terrance waited nervously, his face etched with lines of worry and his eyes dim, portraying a man much older than his years.
He had not anticipated such a sharp escalation.
This time, Noah was genuinely enraged.
Terrance realized he needed to defuse the situation quickly, or the Howe family would face severe repercussions.
âMr. Howe, Mr. Wall refuses to see you,â Samuel delivered the message without warmth.
âRefuses to see me?â Terranceâs heart sank deeper. âDid Mr. Wall say anything else?â
âMr. Wall told youâ¦â Samuel paused for emphasis, before adding, âto get out of his face immediately.â
âGet outâ¦â Terrance staggered, nearly falling over.
He understood that this was both Noahâs final rebuke and his greatest disgrace.
âMr. Howe, are you alright?â his butler asked, quickly supporting him.
âIâm fine,â Terrance said dismissively, steadying himself. âLetâs go.â He turned and slowly walked away from the hospital, each step heavy with defeat.
Inside the hospital room, the space was softly lit by a warm yellow lamp beside the bed.
Noah sat by the bed, a hardcover edition of The Little Prince in his hands.
His voice was deep and resonant as he read aloud.
âThe fox said, âTo me, you are still nothing more than a little boy who is just like a hundred thousand other little boys. And I have no need of you. And you, on your part, have no need of me. To you, I am nothing more than a fox, like a hundred thousand other foxes. But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I shall be unique in all the world.'â
