Chapter 565
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 565:
She nodded in approval; Nanette had managed everything perfectly.
âSadie, youâre back to work!â Nanette exclaimed with a bright smile upon seeing her.
âI see the studioâs remodeling went well,â Sadie said with a smile.
âOf course! I made sure everyone worked hard. I even convinced them to put in extra hours to complete it sooner,â Nanette replied, lifting her chin with pride. âHow are you feeling, by the way? Are you better now?â
âI feel perfectly fine. Thanks for asking.â Sadie patted Nanetteâs shoulder. âAny news regarding the International Jewelry Design Competition?â
âOh, gosh, yes!â Nanette clapped her hands excitedly. âSadie, your work has been shortlisted. A small gala will be held tomorrow night, and the competition will officially start the day after. The organizers invited you to tomorrowâs party.â
âI see. Great, then. Please prepare an evening dress for me.â
âNo problem!â Nanette patted her chest. âLeave everything to me.â
Sadie chuckled at her zeal, then walked over to her desk. She turned her laptop on and began going through the work that had piled up while she was gone.
She needed to finish everything as soon as possible, so she could fully focus on preparing for the contest.
Sadie was determined to prove herself in the industry. More importantly, she wanted to make the people who had hurt her pay. They were going to find out that she was no pushover.
Sadie buried herself in work and completely lost track of time. She only stopped when Nanette knocked on her door to remind her that it was time to clock out.
Sadie sat back and stretched, then gathered her purse and coat.
âMake sure to dress yourself up for tomorrow, okay?â Nanette said with a wink.

Sadie smiled. âYes, yes. Got it.â
They parted ways outside the studio, and Sadie drove home.
The next evening, Sadie arrived at the partyâs venue just before it started.
She was wearing a black, backless evening gown that accentuated her silhouette. Her long, dark hair was pinned up, drawing attention to her slender neck. Her makeup was light and exquisite, and she carried herself with grace and elegance that made heads turn her way.
Sadie glided through the crowd, exchanging pleasantries with designers and brand representatives. She maintained a polite smile throughout, one that exuded confidence and charm.
âWell, well, well.â A sharp, mocking voice suddenly broke through the mingling guests. âIsnât this the famous designer, Miss Hudson?â
Sadie turned to see Vivi standing behind her, wearing a sneer. Vivi wore a tight, red dress that matched her bold makeup. While she made for a striking figure, she looked somewhat garish next to Sadie.
âMiss Quinn,â Sadie greeted calmly. âLong time no see.â
âLong time no see?â Vivi scoffed. âI heard your studio ran into some trouble recently. To be honest, I thought you would be too ashamed to show your face at public events like this.â
Sadieâs lips curled into a subtle smile. âSorry to disappoint you, but my studio and I are actually doing pretty well. But I heard youâve been trying to secure a deal with Lawrence Group. That hasnât exactly worked out, has it?â
Viviâs expression darkened. She wasnât expecting Sadie to know about this.
The Lawrence Group was a renowned jewelry brand in Helva, and one of Sadieâs long-time clients.
