Chapter 721
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 721:
A low chuckle escaped Sutton, his gaze filled with mockery. âMs. Burgess, youâve got guts showing up alone.â
His tone was taunting, as if he was sure he would always have the upper hand.
Hailey moved closer with deliberate grace. âWell, you asked for me, and here I am.â
She deliberately softened her tone, feigning vulnerability.
Suttonâs smirk deepened as he tilted her chin. âSmart girl.â
Swallowing her revulsion, Hailey leaned in, her voice turning honeyed. âSutton, Iâve missed you.â
With that, she pressed herself against him, subtly reaching for the weapon hidden at her waist.
Pleased by her sudden shift in demeanor, Sutton chuckled smugly and gestured for his men to leave. âAll of you, get out. No interruptions until I say so.â
The bodyguards exchanged glances but followed orders, exiting the room.
Outside, they gathered, speaking in hushed tones.

âWhat do you think is going on in there?â one of them murmured.
Another smirked. âIsnât it obvious? Though⦠isnât Mr. Wall unableââ
âKeep your voice down! Do you want to get into trouble?â
Though no one said it outright, they all knew Sutton had lost a certain capability.
âMaybe he just enjoys making her dance to his tune, feeding his twisted desires,â one guard chuckled, prompting crude laughter from the others.
Just then, a waiter approached with a tray.
âGentlemen, the manager has arranged refreshments for you. Please, this way.â
The guardsâ eyes lit up.
It seemed their boss wouldnât be done anytime soon, and they were more than ready for a break.
âExcellent service. Much appreciated!â
They followed the waiter into the next room, oblivious to the scarlet liquid slowly seeping beneath the locked door.
The next morning, at Riverside Villa, Coyle was leisurely enjoying his breakfast when he noticed the butler hesitating to speak. Setting his utensils aside, he frowned.
âWhereâs Sutton? Why hasnât he come down yet?â
Normally, Sutton would have joined him by now, but today, he was absent.
âSir, Mr. Sutton Wall didnât return home last night,â the butler replied cautiously.
Coyleâs expression darkened. âWhere did that fool run off to this time?â
That bastard had a habit of indulging in reckless behavior instead of handling serious matters.
âSir, his security team reported that he met with someone from the Burgess Group last night, supposedly to discuss a deal,â the butler hurriedly explained.
Coyleâs irritation faded, replaced by mild amusement. He leaned back with a smirk.
âWell, well. Maybe the boy finally grew a brain. I mightâve underestimated him.â
His mood lifted as he finished breakfast. However, upon arriving at his office, he was met with his assistant, who looked visibly shaken.
âMr. Wall, bad news!â
