Chapter 725
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 725:
He quickly released Sadie, propping himself up and helping her sit.
âAre you alright?â
His voice carried an edge of worry, though he seemed unaware of it.
Sadie inhaled sharply, rubbing her sore back. Her tears had yet to dry, and she wiped them away before meeting Noahâs gaze. Her voice remained steady, though distant. âMr. Noel, what brings you here?â
Noah hesitated, unable to answer. His assistant had mentioned Sadieâs presence at the hot spring resort, and before he knew it, he had followed an inexplicable urge to come. It was as though something beyond his control had drawn him here. But he wasnât about to admit that. His tone remained detached. âJust here for a break. Youâre reading too much into it, Ms. Hudson.â
Sadie gave a slight nod, not pressing further. âIf thatâs the case, now that youâre awake, please leave. This is my room.â Her words were polite but impersonal, as though she was addressing a stranger.
Something inside Noah twisted. A strange, unexplainable irritation crept in. She was in such a hurry to send him away?
âApologies for the intrusion,â he said coolly, rising from the bed. Without another word, he turned toward the door.
In the living room, Averi remained engrossed in his toys. When Noah emerged, the boyâs face lit up with a bright, innocent smile. His eyes curved in a way that sent an eerie sense of familiarity through Noahâs chest.

He halted mid-step. That strange feeling gripped him once againâsomething he couldnât quite name. But before he could dwell on it, he shook the thought away and left, his steps surprisingly unsteady.
Noahâs driver had already moved the suitcases into his room. Noticing Noahâs uneasy look, he felt perplexed but opted to keep quiet, refraining from asking questions. Noah stepped into his room, shutting the door behind him. He retrieved his phone and dialed his assistant. âI need details on Sadieâs son, Averi.â
On the other end, though momentarily puzzled, the assistant promptly responded, âUnderstood, Mr. Noel. Iâll get on it right away.â
Meanwhile, Sadie sat motionless in her suite at the hot spring resort. Since Noah was here, that meant her strategy at the company must already be in motion. Suddenly, her phone rangâit was Blaine. She answered, and his voice came through with a teasing lilt. âHowâs the hot spring? Relaxing, I hope?â
As usual, Blaine started with a lighthearted remark. Sadieâs lips curled slightly, her tone neutral. âItâs fine.â
âJudging by your response, it doesnât sound too impressive,â Blaine sighed dramatically before shifting the conversation, his voice brimming with intrigue. âBut, you know, things at the company are getting quite interesting.â
A flicker of emotion stirred within Sadie, though she remained composed. âWhatâs happening?â
Blaine said, his tone carrying a hint of mischief, âThat old fox, Coyle, is in serious trouble this time.â
Sadie had anticipated this outcome, so the news didnât shock her. Maintaining her usual composure, she replied, âGive me the specifics.â
âMr. Noel made it clear he has no intention of continuing their deal,â Blaine said, amusement lacing his words. âHe didnât even grant them a meetingâjust terminated the contract without hesitation. This morning, Coyleâs office was a complete madhouse. Malcolm and the other shareholders wasted no time rushing over to âexpress their concernsâ once they learned Burgess Group was pulling out.â Blaine vividly recounted Coyleâs predicament, his tone gleeful.
