Chapter 1691
Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted
Keegan spun his wheelchair around to face the people in the room, âApologies for taking up everyoneâs time. Weâve witnessed quite the spectacle today.
Regardless, I want to thank each of you for supporting my family during my absence. Your support means a lot. I wasnât fully prepared for todayâs event.
However, I plan to express my gratitude once I recover.â
His words clearly indicated that the guests were now free to leave. Being a group of wise individuals, they offered words of comfort and began to make their exit.
At that moment, Chandler spoke up, âKeegan, since weâre all here today, why not take advantage of this opportunity to introduce Coco to everyone? This will help prevent any future misunderstandings or rumors that might harm the child.â
Chandlerâs intentions were far from benevolent.
Keegan, having brought the police to take Jackson away upon his return, was not one to tolerate this humiliation.
Chandler intended to use Coco to overturn Keeganâs previous will and create a rift between Keegan and the Saun family. He aimed for this approach because he recognized the heightened difficulty of dealing with Keegan when the Sauns supported him.
Coco was being very cooperative by calling Keegan âDaddy.â
Keegan hesitated before extending his arms. Coco rushed over and hugged him, saying, âDaddy, where did you go? They said you werenât coming back, and I thought you didnât want me anymore.â
The two of them displayed a close relationship.
Stella clenched her fists and stared at Keegan, wanting to teach him a lesson if he admitted that Coco was his daughter.
Keegan ran his fingers through Cocoâs hair and asked, âWhat should you call me?â
Coco stuck her tongue out and replied, âUncle Keegan.â
Keegan looked at his uncle and said, âUncle Chandler, itâs surprising that you took the trouble to find her. I did intend to adopt Coco; however, I donât meet the qualifications. So now, I am currently acting as her temporary guardian. I am not her father.â
He lifted Coco onto his lap, grabbed her chin, and faced the people, âWe donât even look alike. How did this misunderstanding come about?â
Felicity felt that Keegan was doing this to establish to Stella that he did not have a child with another woman.
Chandler didnât believe it, âI understand you may be refraining from admitting it because of concerns for Stellaâs reaction, but the child is all grown up now. Plus, itâs not like you betrayed your marriage. Iâm sure Stella would understand.â
âStella?â Keegan paused and furrowed his brows, looking puzzled. âAre you talking about my ex-wife?
Weâre divorced, and my matters have nothing to do with her. I donât need her understanding.â
Stellaâs expression stiffened as she gazed at Keegan in disbelief.
He continued, âNevertheless, Coco isnât my daughter. Sheâs an orphan. Her father was a classmate of mine who tragically lost his life in a firefighting accident, and her mother passed away shortly after giving birth to her. The elderly person who raised her passed away a couple of years ago. They sought my assistance and entrusted Coco to me on their deathbed. Did you not investigate her background when you located her, Uncle Chandler?â
âWell, then why would she call you âDadâ?â Chandler asked with a cold expression.
âMmmâ¦â
Just as Chandler thought Keegan had no response, Keegan sighed and said, âItâs my fault for not educating her well. Sheâs a bit unclear about the concept.
She tends to call any attractive man âdaddyâ when she sees them.â
Following that, he pointed at Vermont and said, âCoco, what do you call him?â
âDaddy!â Coco called out in a sweet tone.
Vermont was taken aback.
Keegan then randomly pointed to Trevor and asked, âWhat about him?â
Cocoâs eyes lit up, âDaddy!â
Her reaction rendered Trevor speechless.
Vermont then decided to say, âCoco, thatâs your uncle. You also have another uncle who is a big celebrity.â
