Chapter 1807
Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted
As soon as Aurora entered the room, she overheard Dahlia speaking in a hushed tone, looking nervous as she held her phone, engaged in a conversation.
What Dahlia had said left Aurora deeply shocked.
âAre you saying Cordelia knows about it too? No wonder she immediately agreed with Stella staying in the Royalpark Villa!
âCalm down? How can I calm down? Itâs easy for you to say! If Keegan remembers what happened, Iâll be the first person he kicks out of this house!
âSheâs been taking that medicine for so long, why can she still get pregnant?
âAbsolutely not!
âWe canât let the baby stay. Keegan would never allow her to live in the Royalpark Villa without the baby. Iâll have nothing to worry about as long as he canât remember what happened.
Auroraâs face turned pale. She tightly gripped the glass to prevent her hands from trembling.
However, the sound of the door closing caught Dahliaâs attention, causing her to abruptly end the call.
Upon seeing Aurora, she breathed a sigh of relief.
Collecting herself, Aurora spoke softly, âI knocked for a while but didnât hear a response, so I came in.
Mom, Corrin made you some collagen drink.â
âWhy are you bringing it? Let the maids handle it. I didnât raise you to be a servant,â Dahlia remarked, echoing similar sentiments she had shared before. This time, though, Aurora felt differently about it.
âGrandma once said nobody is born to serve. Itâs just a job, and one should never feel superior. Life can take unexpected turns. When the tables are turned, consider how others might treat you,â Aurora reflected silently.
Aurora lowered her gaze. âI need to talk to you about something, so I brought it over.â
Dahlia did not take it. Instead, she checked outside the door, ensured no one was nearby, and closed it again.
âPut it on the table.â
Dahlia motioned for Aurora to approach. As Aurora drew nearer, Dahlia asked, âWhat did you want to talk to me about?â
It dawned on Aurora why she had come. âI donât want to meet Mrs. Woodâs son. Can you decline on my behalf?â
Dahlia paused, a frown appearing on her face. âWhy? Youâre not still thinking about Marshall, are you?
âMrs. Woodâs son is pursuing a Ph.D., heâs exceptional in every aspect. Their familyâs company is going public soon.
âMany socialites are vying for his attention, but heâs only interested in you. Whatâs not to like about him?â
Aurora clenched her fingers and bit her lip, remaining silent.
âSay something! Keegan is already giving me enough trouble, and now youâre acting like this. Her son has good manners, a strong family background, and is even more knowledgeable than you.
Moreoverâ¦â Dahlia paused before continuing, âDonât be so selective. Consider what you bring to the table when choosing your partner.â
Auroraâs expression immediately turned somber.
Sensing she might have been too harsh, Dahlia attempted to reassure Aurora, âI didnât mean it like that.
I wouldnât consider him if he werenât a good match. But Mrs. Woodâs son is genuinely an exceptional man. Iâve met him a few times, and heâs always so well-mannered. He asks about you often. He genuinely admires you.
âI donât want you to marry young either. But Keegan left most of his wealth to Stella. Canât you see whatâs happening? He doesnât care about us at all. Iâm just trying to find you a good husband so that youâll have someone to support you in the future.â
