Chapter 1811
Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted
As Stella and Aurora heard the door open, both turned their heads toward the entrance.
âHi, Keegan,â Aurora greeted.
Stella couldnât help but notice a hint of relief in Auroraâs tone.
âWhatâs she so tense about? Is she worried I might confront her without Keegan around?*
Keegan hung up his coat and asked, âWhat brings you here?â
âGrandma said Stella came here to aid in your memory recovery. Why didnât you inform me? Weâve grown up together, and shouldnât I be spending more time with you? That way, you might recover faster. Thatâs why I came here,â Aurora explained.
Keegan furrowed his brows. âDid Grandma request you to come?â
Aurora pouted. âNo, I came on my own.â
âGo back. Thereâs nothing for you to do here,â Keegan insisted.
Aurora grew upset. âIf Stella can be here, why canât I? I donât care; Iâm not leaving. I want to help you.â
Keegan countered, âWhat can you help me with? This is not-
âNot what?â Aurora interjected.
Keegan paused momentarily before continuing, âThis is not as straightforward as you think it is. Stop interfering.â
âHow am I interfering? Youâd rather have an unrelated outsider here than let your own sister help you?â
Aurora retorted.
Keegan furrowed his brow, about to voice his thoughts when Stella, who had been quiet until then, unexpectedly intervened, âJust let her stay if she wants to. Maybe she can help speed up your recovery. Once youâre better, Iâll get to leave sooner too.â
Keegan was surprised by Stellaâs response. âSheâs playing a role here, isnât she? Sheâs not here to assist me with my memory recovery,â Keegan thought to himself.
However, Keegan was resolute. âNo, leave. Stop causing trouble here.â
Aurora clenched her teeth. âKeegan! Youâd never turn me away. Whatâs going on? Is there something youâre hiding from me?â
Keeganâs expression grew stern. âWhat nonsense are you talking about? I said no! Leave now!âBooks Chapters Are Daily Updated Join & Stay Updated For All Books Updatesâ¦
Auroraâs face contorted with displeasure. She threw the remote control onto the floor, creating a loud noise before storming upstairs, visibly angry.
Stella was puzzled.
âHas she gone crazy?â
Even though Keegan spoiled Aurora, she was still somewhat afraid of Keegan getting angry. Whenever there was no one to support her when Keegan got upset, she would immediately step back or withdraw.
That was Stellaâs first time seeing Aurora standing up against Keegan like that.
Before Stella could figure out what Aurora was trying to do, she heard the maid yelling, âMs. Kane!
What are you doing? Come down now! Itâs dangerous!â
Stella stopped in her tracks. She turned and spotted Aurora flipping over the railing on the second floor.
Aurora gripped the railing with both hands behind her back, looking down at the high living room below.
Keeganâs expression changed. âAurora Kane! What in the world are you doing? Are you crazy? Step away from there!â
He hurried upstairs while speaking. But Aurora released one hand and yelled, âDonât come closer! Iâll jump if you do!â
Keegan halted and gazed at her. âWhat do you want?â he asked tightly, his jaw tense.
Aurora said, âI want to stay here. Keegan, I just want you to get better. Why can Stella stay, but I canât?â
Her voice shook, probably because she was frightened standing on the edge of the railing.
Stella had heard Keegan mention that Aurora was scared of heights. Even being on a skywalk could make her legs feel weak. âIs she going this far just to make Keegan let her stay?
Isnât she scared?â
Keegan clenched his fists and spoke with a grim expression, âCome down first, then weâll talk.â
âI wonât come down unless you let me stay!â Auroraâs eyes welled up. âKeegan, are you still blaming me for what happened to Dad?â
Keeganâs lips quivered slightly as he softly replied, âNo.â
