Chapter 125
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 125:
Hadley hesitated, puzzled by his question. âWhat exactly do you mean, Mr. Faulkner?â
âForget it,â Adonis dismissed the topic with a smile.
Though pleased by her appearance, Adonis recognized it was premature for any definite decision. He first needed to assess her capability in the stand-in role.
Tapping the papers in his hand, he announced, âYouâre in.â
Surprised, Hadleyâs face lit up with a grateful smile. âThank you so much!â
âProceed,â Adonis said. âElvin will fill you in on the details.â
âThank you for the opportunity, Mr. Faulkner.â
After Hadley had left, Adonis instructed Elvin, retrieving her file. âKeep her at the top of the list from now on.â
âDo you mean to sayââ
âJust ensure sheâs here when we need her,â Adonis confirmed with a nod.
âUnderstood!â Elvin replied enthusiastically. âHadley will be ecstatic!â
Adonis, recalling her striking appearance, remarked, âSheâs quite the looker and unbelievably photogenic.â
The auditioning women were all professional dancers, many exceptionally skilled.
Yet, filmmaking was more than just skills and techniques.
It demanded a certain charisma, which Hadley naturally possessed.
âSheâs been given the chance; now letâs see if she can capitalize on it,â Adonis reflected.
âIâll keep an eye on her, since it was I who recommended her,â Elvin assured.
He then delivered the news to Hadley.
âYou must seize this opportunity!â He cautioned her with measured words. âSucceed here, and Mr. Faulkner will surely feature you further.â
âThank you so much, Mr. Webster.â

âMy pleasure.â
With a heart full of hope, Hadley left the studio, her steps buoyant with anticipation, the excitement carrying her into the evening at Galant.
After an exhaustive day, Phillips entered with pressing news for Eric. âSir, it appears Hadley actually resides on West Twelfth Alley.â
Ericâs expression turned grim instantly.
He chuckled briefly, finding some humor in the revelation.
âThe exact address has been sent to your phone,â Phillips mentioned, avoiding Ericâs intimidating stare.
âExcellent.â
Eric was checking his phone when it suddenly rang.
âHello?â
âHey, bro,â Marshallâs voice teased. âAre you headed to Galant tonight?â
âIâm not going.â
Eric felt out of sorts tonight, with more pressing matters at hand.
âWhy not? I heard youâve beenââ
Interrupting Marshallâs rambling, Eric snapped, âIâm busy. Thatâs all there is to it.â
