“There’s no need to thank us. We understand the difficulties you’re facing,” Edward said, raising his hand and patting the doctor’s shoulder. Then he extinguished the cigarette.

“Let’s go!” Edward said, indicating it was time to leave.

However, the doctor hurriedly stopped him. “There’s something… I’m not sure if your boss knows about it.”

Edward raised an eyebrow. “What is it?”

After a moment of hesitation, the doctor slowly said, “Ms. Christian has given birth.”

Edward was stunned before he wondered, ‘Isn’t her due date later? I remember Lily and Liv having similar due dates. Liv hasn’t given birth yet, but Lily has?!’

He was unsure if Alexander knew about it, but the news shocked him.

“She gave birth before her due date. It was a premature delivery,” the doctor confirmed, adding, “She did a C-section and birthed twins—a boy and a girl. They’re adorable and healthy.”

Edward sighed with relief at the news. However, his expression soon turned serious again. After all, Lily had birthed twins, meaning the organization had three hostages. It made the situation even more complicated.

Still, although rescuing a heavily pregnant woman was challenging, it was better than dealing with an adult with two infants in swaddles. Indeed, it was a nerve-racking situation.

“Is there anything else?” Edward asked. After a moment of thought, he added, “Have they…done anything to the two children?”

“No, no!” The doctor waved reassuringly. “I can guarantee that. I secretly examined the babies, and they were fine. However, the organization is highly cautious and has other doctors taking turns looking after the twins.

“Also…” The doctor hesitated as he glanced back at his family. “Now that you’ve helped me rescue my family, they’ll find out soon. When that happens, I’ll be the main suspect.”

“Don’t worry about that. You and your family be long gone before the organization finds out,” Edward said smilingly, “We’ve arranged for someone to pick you up tomorrow and take you away. Thank you for informing me about this.”

“You’re welcome! It’s nothing compared to what you guys have done for me!” The doctor was grateful.

Although they did not know each other well, Alexander and Edward helped him immensely. They even helped to relocate the doctor’s whole family.

“I guess you can say it’s fate,” Edward replied with a sigh. “You should keep quiet about what happened here. Otherwise, we won’t be able to protect you no matter where you run to.”

“I understand!” The doctor nodded repeatedly.

Edward said nothing more and disappeared into the night.
