Chapter 109
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
When Rosalie anved at Rebeccaâs place, it was around ten oâclock.
Rebys was Wing in bed, wearing her reading glasses and engrossed
ta book
Spotting Rosalie, she quickly put down her book and smiled warmly. Rose, youâre here.â
âGrandma.â Rosalie smiled back, sitting beside Rebeccaâs bed. âWhat are you reading**
âItâs a romance novel,â Rebecca replied.
Rosalie peeked at the cover out of curiosity. Indeed, it was one of those girly romance novels.
She exclaimed, âGrandma, youâre actually reading a romance novel?â
âWhatâs wrong with that? Just because Iâm old, I canât read romance novels anymore? Rebeccaâs
tone was serious, but she didnât actually seem angry. âCan only young people like you read them?
Do you look down on me, an old woman?â
Though Rebecca sounded stern, she wasnât genuinely upset.
âOh, Grandma, thatâs not what I meant at all,â Rosalie reassured her quickly. âI didnât expect you to
still have such a youthful heart. Thatâs wonderful! Youâre my favorite kind of grandma.â
Rosalie actually quite liked people who grew more childlike as they aged. She felt that such souls
were more interesting than those who pretended to be mature and worldly, regardless of their age.
She hoped that when she grew old and couldnât walk anymore, she could still read a romance
novel. When she read about the male lead
ng on the female lead, her heart would race, and she would
enthusiastically ship the couple
But would she like Rebecca, end up sitting alone in bed?
Rebeccaâs husband had passed away over a decade ago, and Rosalie hadnât even met him. She
remembered that when Rebecca adopted her ten years ago, she wasnât as old as she was then.
Back then, Rebecca was still in good health. Over the years, time had taken its toll. Rebeccaâs back
had become more hunched, her face more lined, her hair alm st completely white.
Rosalie suddenly felt very sad.
Everyone had to leave the world at some point. In the long river of history, everyone had to go.
Thinking about Rebeccaâs age. Rosalie suddenly felt waves of pain in her heart. She couldnât
imagine what it would be like when Rebecca left. She couldnât bear the thought of losing Rebecca.
Lost in her thoughts, Rosalie felt her nose tingle and her eyes suddenly turn red.
Rebecca looked at Rosalie with concern. She took Rosalieâs hand, and asked worriedly. âWhatâs
wrong? Did Theo bully you? Tell me if he did! Iâll teach him a lesson for you.â
âGrandmaâ¦â¦â¦â Rosalie rushed into Rebeccaâs arms, and carefully
embraced her. âI just suddenly missed you. Seeing you makes me so
happy.â
Rosalie didnât voice her worries. The day would come sooner or later, and she believed Rebecca
could handle it. After all, with age came a certain acceptance of many things, even death.
But as the one left behind, Rosalie would be heartbroken.
For Rosalie, Rebecca was the closest person in the world to her. If it werenât for Rebecca, Rosalie
couldnât imagine where she would be
now.
Rebecca treated her like a real granddaughter, even better than her biological grandson.
There was no blood relation between them. Although Rosalieâs parents died in an accident at the
SK Enterprise, the company
compensated her generously. It was an unfortunate incident. Nobody. would have imagined it ever
happening.
Technically, it would have been understandable if Rebecca hadnât adopted her.
But Rebecca did it anyway, giving Rosalie a good future and a new chance at life. So, no matter
what happened, Rosalie always prioritize her first.
