Chapter 113
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
Theodore had already arranged the food on the table.
âSo, you want me to hurry back?â
âYeah, you go ahead,â Cynthia said with a smile.
âWhen you called me, you made it sound urgent. You insisted I needed to help you with this and
that. I donât think you really want me to hurry back,â Theodore teased.
It wasnât really a dig at Cynthia from the depths of his heart. It was more like banter between two
close people.
âCome on, Theo. Are you really going to pick on me for this? I didnât know you were going back to
divorce her. If I had known, I wouldnât have held you back. I love you so much, and you should
know whatâs on my mind,â Cynthia said, sounding pitiful. She lowered her head more and more as
she spoke.
âDo you need me to stay here with you? Should I really go back to have dinner with Rose and
Grandma?â he asked, doubleâchecking things.
âYou should go. Donât keep them waiting,â Cynthia urged.
Her desire was plainly evident in her eyes. Theodore knew this well, and naturally wouldnât argue
with her about it.
For some reason, Cindy kept holding him back the entire day. So, he stayed and didnât tell her the
truth.
âThen youâll have lunch by yourself,â he said.
âOkay, Iâll be good and finish lunch. You should hurry,â she replied.
âAlright,â Theodore said, putting on his coat. âIâm leaving now.â
âDonât forget your phone,â said Cynthia, acting like a devoted wife as
she handed it to him
Theodore took the phone without saying much, and left the ward,
Cynthia sighed deeply
She never expected what Rosalie said to be true.
Seriously, what was wrong with Theodore? Why didnât he tell her
earlier?
Maybe Theodore was afraid of disappointing her.
Theodore was right, though. Until the very end, no one knew what would happen.
Theo really loved her and cared so much about her feelings. The more Cynthia thought about it, the
sweeter it felt.
Meanwhile, Rosalie and Rebecca were sitting at the dining table. The food was already served, and
steaming with a delicious aroma. However, the heat was fleeting. If Theodore didnât show up soon,
it would turn cold soon.
Rebeccaâs expression was sour, as if she was seriously annoyed.
Rosalie hurriedly tried to placate her âGrandma, why donât we just eat first? Letâs not wait for him.â
âWe have to wait,â Rebecca said coldly. âLetâs see if that brat will come. If he doesnât, I wonât eat.
Does he intend to starve an old lady to death? Iâm so angry at him now!â
Rebecca slammed the table with force.
âEvery time, itâs like this. When he comes, I want to ask him, just how busy he is with work?! Or is
he up to something else outside?!â
Seeing Rebecca like this, Rosalie felt a bit worried about Theodore. She was even more concerned
that Rebeccaâs anger might affect her health.
So, she pulled a chair closer to Rebecca and coaxed, âGrandma, is it not good enough for me to eat
with you? Why do you have to wait for Theo? You always say you love me the most, but it seems
like you love your grandson more.â
Rosalie looked displeased, like a child.
Rebecca held her hand. âRose! Of course I love you the most. Iâm just mad at Theo. Heâs always
late.â
âThen, why isnât it enough that Iâm here with you? Am I not good
enough? Who cares what heâs doing? Iâm starving,â Rosalie said as she patted her flat stomach.
âLetâs eat first, okay?â
âAlright,â Rebecca sighed. âOh, youâ¦I know youâre defending your husband.â
âNo way! Iâm not doing that. Iâm just hungry, and Iâm worried youâll go hungry too. Who cares what
heâs doing? Weâll finish eating, and there wonât be any left for him when he comes,â Rosalie said
