Chapter 148
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
âNo,â Rebecca said in a tone that suddenly turned solemn. âI want to see the resident register in one
hourâs time. Otherwise, Iâll go find you in person and see if youâve replaced your ID card.â
The chill in Rebeccaâs voice told Rosalie that Rebecca must already be suspicious of her. She had
to give back the resident register, by hook or by crook.
âAll right, Grandma. I got it. Iâll have someone give back the register right now.â
âGood. Watch the time, otherwise I might suspect that you took the register to do something fishy.â
With that, Rebecca hung up.
Rosalie could sense the heavy suspicion in Rebeccaâs voice. For all she knew, Rebecca might
already be onto something, but was giving her a last chance by not exposing her there and then.
She really couldnât imagine how Rebecca would react if the latter. found out the truth.
âTheodore Spencer, are you happy about this right now? We canât file. for a divorce tomorrow
afternoon. Grandma wants the register back. in one hourâs time.â
âWeâll file for a divorce next time. We can always get the register. another time.â
Theodoreâs indifference toward the entire situation gave Rosalie the urge to slap him. âYouâ¦â
Just then, Sebastian walked into the lobby and asked, âRosalie, are you done?â
The sight of Sebastian made Theodoreâs eyes grow cold. âYou
brought him along too?â
Was Rosalie thinking of marrying Sebastian right after divorcing him?
âSebastian drove me he out of the goodness of his heart. As for you, just look at how youâre
behaving right now.â Rosalie gripped the resident register tightly in her hands, and lamented, âIâm
so
disappointed in you right now.â
She couldnât even bring herself to feel angry at him, and her heart was filled with disappointment.
âFrom now on, I wonât do anything more to push for the divorce. Since you donât find it urgent, why
should I find it urgent? At the end of the day, you and Cynthia are the ones losing out. Youâre on
your own.â
She felt exhausted, especially after so many missed opportunities time and time again. Why did it
seem so impossible to divorce Theodore?!
With that, Rosalie turned to leave. âLetâs go, Sebastian.â
âRosalie, are you all right?â
âIâm fine. Letâs go have dinner. I donât want to get angry over him,â Rosalie said as she tried to keep
her emotions in check..
Back in the car, Rosalie suddenly felt out of breath.
Sebastian immediately wound the windows down to let in some fresh air. Rosalie felt much better
with the wind in her face. She reached
out to caress her belly.
âDo you feel unwell? Should I bring you to the hospital to get things checked?â
âItâs fine, Iâm not unwell.â
She felt upset, and it wasnât something that the doctors could do anything about. However, she
would try her best to relax and not

dwell over the matter for the sake of her baby.
âYouâll eventuall, find a chance to file for a divorce. Donât worry.â
Rosalie sighed. âHow did things turn out like this?â
âYes,â Sebastian said with doubt. Why did Theodore get caught drur driving today, of all days? The
police usually caught offenders for drunkâdriving at night, and not in the day.
âA man like Theodore would never be this careless. If he really wante the divorce, he would have
been cautious and not allow anything lik this to happen. How could he possibly drive after drinking?
Whatâ more, he had a driver to boot.
âRosalie, should I send you home?â
âI still owe you a meal,â Rosalie said. âLetâs go have dinner. I didnâ just say it to piss Theodore off.â
She had been keeping this meal she owed Sebastian in mind, and thought it was better to return
the favor as soon as possible instead of dragging things out.
âAll right, then. What do you want to eat?â
âIâm good with anything. Letâs go to your favorite restaurant.â
âSure,â he said, knowing that Rosalie probably wasnât in a state of mind to make any decision right
now.
