Chapter 149
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
When they arrived at a restaurant, Rosalie called her familyâs driver. She gave him the resident
register so he could get it to Grandma as soon as possible.
The restaurant had a great ambiance, with a pianist playing a soothing melody on stage. Rosalie
was lost in the mesmerizing tune as she listened intently to it.
âRosalie, have you thought of a name for your baby?â
Sebastian tried hard to think of topics to chat with Rosalie about to distract her from thinking about
things that would upset her.
âI havenât thought of that yet,â Rosalie said as she smiled. âI donât even know if itâs a girl or boy.â
âYou should have a name ready.â
âYeah.â
âDo you wish for it to be a boy or a girl?â
âI donât know,â Rosalie said, looking rather upset.
âIf I were to give birth to a boy who inherits Theodoreâs personality and ends up being a bastard
who goes around breaking womenâs hearts, what should I do?â
âIf I gave birth to a girl whoâs so vulnerable to heartbreak, what should Iâdo? Who can protect her
from being taken advantage of? She
doesnât have a father, after all.â
Rosalie started to panic, thinking about being a single mother and the potential of her baby growing
up and being led astray due to the lack. of a fatherâs love. Would the child end up being the subject
of
mockery and ridicule?
These were all problems she would have to face in the future. She had set her mind on giving birth
to the child, but did she consider whether the child would be happy in this life?
As much as she loved the child, this society was prejudiced against single mothers and children
who come from broken families.
She even thought that if she gave birth the baby ended up suffering, it would be her fault.
Sebastian could guess what Rosalie was thinking from the panic on her face. He seemed to have
eyes that could see through everything.
âIf you gave birth to a girl, who said that no one would protect her? Not only does she have you as
her mother, but she also hasâ¦â
âWho else?â Rosalie looked up at him. âAre you referring to Theodore? Iâll never let him know about
this childâs existence. He doesnât deserve
to.â
âI didnât mean him. Of course I wasnât referring to Theodore.â
âWho were you referring to, then?â Rosalie looked at him doubtfully.
Sebastian put down his cutlery, and said, âIf youâre willing, I can protect her.â
Rosalieâs heart trembled. âWhatâ¦what did you say?â
Fear flashed past the depths of her eyes.
âOh, please donât misunderstand me.â
Seeing her panic, Sebastian immediately explained himself.
âItâs not what you think it is. I meant that since weâre friends, Iâll be your childrenâs uncle of sorts. If
your child ends up a boy, Iâll help your guide and teach him to be a good man. If you end up having
a girl, Iâll
protect her getting taken advantage of Rosalie, youâre not alone. You have nothing to worry about.â
Rosalieâs heart was racing. She rested her palms on her knees, and could feel it sweating. She
could sense something from Sebastianâs eyes, and it made her nervous.
âSebastian, you donât need to be like this. How could I trouble you with my child?â
âWhy should things be so calculative between friends? Unless you donât treat me as your friend. I
trust that youâll come to my aid should I need your help in the future, right?â
Rosalie had no words to counter him. His words made sense. Although they hadnât known each
other for very long, she could sense that Sebastian was a good man who was worth trusting.
