Chapter 159
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
Rosalie waited until the afternoon.
Actually, she had wanted to divorce earlier, thinking Theodoreâs hungover would have dissipated by
now.
She picked up her phone again and called Theodore, but it went straight to voicemail.
Rosalie was getting frustrated.
Didnât Caleb tell Theodore about their divorce plan? How could he just turn off his phone at such a
critical moment?
Rosalie went to find Anthony. He had a phone directory, and after finding Calebâs number, she
dialed it.
On the other end, Caleb answered, âHello.â
âItâs Rosalie.â
âRose, whatâs up?â
âIs Theo still with you?â
âHe⦠Heâs not here anymore.â
âHis phone is off, I canât reach him. Since heâs not with you, do your know where he went?â
âHeâ¦â
âCome on, Caleb. Please tell me the truth.â
âHe⦠heâs in the hospital.â
Rosalie gasped. âWhat happened? Did he get into another accident?â
Could Theodore have been drunk driving again?
âOh, itâs not an accident. Heâs been in the room for a long time, and he didnât open the door. I went
to check on him at noon, and when I found he hadnât moved, I forced the door open. He was
unconscious, so I rushed him to the hospital. The doctor said itâs stomach bleeding.
âWhich hospital is Theo in? Tell me quickly!â
Rosalie hurried to the hospital, where Caleb was pacing back and forth in front of Theodoreâs room.
âCaleb!â Rosalie approached quickly, anxious. âHow is he?â
Caleb said, âHeâs been treated in the emergency room, and is still
unconscious.â
âHow could he have stomach bleeding? Is it because of drinking?â
âDrinking is indeed part of the reason, butâ¦â Caleb scratched his head.
âBut what? Tell me.â
âDonât you know heâs been taking stomach medication all this time?â
Rosalie went silent. She remembered seeing Caleb buying medicine before, saying it was for
Theodore.
Back then, Caleb sounded like Theodore needed the medication. But later, Theodore told her he
wasnât taking it longâterm.
âYou mean his stomach isnât in good condition, and heâs been taking medication?â
âYeah, he has a stomach condition and takes medicine regularly. Heâs also careful about what he
eats. He avoids spicy foods, but he still likes to drink.â
Rosalie tightened her grip on the straps of her bag. âHe never told me
about this. I even asked him, and he said he wasnât taking it longâterm.
âMaybe he was afraid youâd worry. Do you want to go in and see him?â Caleb asked.
Rosalie nodded, and cautiously opened the door.
Theodore was still unconscious on the hospital bed. She backed out, and closed the door.
âDid the doctor say when heâll wake up?â Rosalie asked.
âHe should wake up once the anesthesia wears off. Butâ¦â Caleb paused for a moment. âAre you
really going through with the divorce?â
âYeah, I am.â
âNo chance of turning back?â
Rosalie shook her head. âNone.â
Caleb sighed. âItâs a shame. How did it come to this?â
âWhen did you start caring about me and Theoâs marriage?â
Caleb looked regretful. âItâs not that I care, itâs just⦠It feels uncomfortable. After all, Theodoreâs a
good friend of mine. I feel like if you two divorce, he wonât be happy about it.â
Rosalie smiled wryly. âThatâs unlikely. He might actually be happy. especially since after our divorce,
he can be with the person he likes.â
âYou mean Cynthia.â Caleb sighed and crossed his arms. âIf she marries Theo, I wonât want to talk
to that woman.â
âWhy?â
âNo reason.â
