Chapter 160
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
When Theodore woke up, he found Rosalie sitting by his bedside. For a moment, he thought he
was dreaming. However, the intense
discomfort in his body reminded him that this was reality.
âYouâre awake. How do you feel?â Rosalie tried to restrain how concerned she felt.
âWhy are you here?â Theodoreâs voice was hoarse, and his lips were cracked.
âIs it weird for me to be here? Unless youâve told everyone not to let anyone know youâre here, like
last time at the resort.â
Theodore frowned.
âAre you here to divorce me?â
Rosalie glanced at the time on her phone. âItâs too late to divorce today. Even if we go there, we
wonât get to our turn in the queue. After all, more and more people are getting divorced these
days.â
How many marriages these days were happy?
Theodore felt uncomfortable lying down for so long. He wanted to sit up for a while, but Rosalie
pressed down on his shoulder. âDonât move.
She pressed a button, and the head of the bed raised up. Soon, Theodore was sitting up without
needing to move.
âIs this better?â Rosalieâs expression was cold, but she was still helping him.
Theodore nodded.
Rosalie picked up a cup and went to the water dispenser. She poured
351
a glass of warm water for him. âHave some water.â
Theodore took the cup, and dranil the water in one go. His dry lips
felt much better.
âDo you want more?â Rosalie asked.
Theodore shook his head. âNo thanks.â
Rosalie took the cup back and placed it aside, then sat on the chair beside the bed.
âAre you still angry at me?â he asked.
âAngry?â Rosalie smiled faintly. âIf youâre referring to you and Cynthia,
I really donât have that much spare time to waste my emotions on
such matters.â
She had been angry, furious, and in pain. She had cried a lot. She really didnât want to go on like
this. Even though she couldnât control the pain inside, she could at least not show it.
Theodore stayed silent for a while before finally speaking.
âYou have a stomach condition. Why have you never told me?â
Rosalie asked.
âThere was nothing to say. You canât cure me anyway,â Theodore replied.
âIs that so?â Rosalie smirked. âThatâs a good point. Since I canât cure you, you just donât tell me.â
Her tone was sarcastic. Even though they had only been married for a year, they had known each
other for ten years. Yet, she wasnât deemed worthy enough to know about his stomach condition.
âYou avoid spicy food because of your stomach, right?â
Theodore simply responded with a faint hum.
âI see. Before, I made two packed lunches, one spicy and one not. You swapped yours with
Cynthiaâs, willingly choosing the spicy one for her even if it meant hurting your stomach. But when
eating with me, you never wanted anything spicy.â
She didnât expect Theodore to eat spicy food with her, but she felt that he treated Cynthia differently
from her.
He loved Cynthia and was willing to do anything for herâeven things. he couldnât do. But for his own
wife, he only did what he could. He
would never do those things he couldnât do for her.
That was the difference between love and not being loved.
âRose, what are you trying to say with all this?â
âIâm not trying to say anything. I just find itâ¦interesting.â
The way she said âinterestingâ sounded particularly sarcastic.
