Chapter 162
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
A few days later, Rosalie was sitting with Rebecca, knitting a sweater. These past few days, she
had been spending time with Rebecca.
âRose, when are you and Theo planning to divorce?â Rebecca asked.
Rosalie smiled lightly. âGrandma, heâs been a bit busy these days. Weâll do it when heâs less
occupied. But donât worry. Even if I divorce him, Iâll still come to see you often. Youâll always be my
grandmother.â âI just want you to be happy soon. How busy can he be? He doesnât even have an
hour to spare for a divorce.â
Before, it was Rebecca who didnât want them to divorce. Now, it seemed she was urging them to
split up. A topic that used to be sensitive could now be discussed easily.
âHeâs indeed very busy, Grandma. Thereâs a lot going on with the company, and as the CEO,
thereâs a lot he has to take care ofâ¦â
âEnough,â Rebecca interrupted her. âDonât hide things from me. I know heâs in the hospital.â
Rosalieâs heart skipped a beat. She looked up, the knitting needle almost pricking her hand.
âGrandma, youâ¦you knew?â
She had been hiding it these past few days, afraid that Rebecca would find out. She didnât expect
the latter to already know. It seemed like they shouldnât hide things from her in the future.
âI knew you were afraid I would worry, so you didnât say anything. But donât forget, even though Iâve
retired, I still know whatâs going on with the company. Theo hasnât been to the office for days, and I
could easily find out with just a phone call
She was even more shrewd than they thought.
âYou donât have to worry, Grandma. Heâs supposed to be discharged today.â
âI know. Oh, that childâs stomach has never been good. Even if heâs discharged today, if he keeps
agitating it, heâll end up back in the hospital. He doesnât take care of his stomach properly, and just
keeps drinking.â Rebecca sighed.
âDid you always know about his stomach?â
âYes, Iâve always known.â
Rosalie frowned slightly. âAnd Iâm the only one who didnât know? No one ever told me about this.â
âTheo didnât want anyone to tell you.â
âWhy?â Rosalie was shocked.
âHe didnât want you to worry, so he told me not to tell you. He believed he could slowly take care of
himself. Having one more person worrying wouldnât help, so I didnât say anything.â
âGrandma, you shouldâve told me earlier.â
Rosalie felt a bit guilty. If she had known about Theodoreâs stomach. issues earlier, she would have
definitely tried to take better care of him during their marriage. She would have kept an eye on him,
and made sure he didnât drink.
âWell, what good would it do to tell you earlier? Now that youâre
getting divorced, I feel really upset,â Rebecca said.
As soon as this was brought up, Rosalieâs complaints disappeared, leaving only guilt towards
Rebecca.
âAlright, letâs not talk about these unhappy things. Theo being
hospitalized is his own doing. It has nothing to do with you,â Rebecca comforted Rosalie.
At this point, the old lady seemed to have come to terms with it.
âGrandma, Theoâs getting discharged today. I plan to go with him to handle the divorce procedures
this afternoon.â
Hearing this, Rebecca sighed and nodded. âAlright, do as you wish. I just hope that after you get
divorced, you both will come visit me together for a meal.â
âNo problem, Grandma.â Rosalie would definitely fulfill Rebeccaâs small wish.
âRose, rest assured. Even if you divorce Theo, youâre still the Spencers
only daughterâinâlaw in my eyes. Youâre the only one Iâll ever
acknowledge. As for other women, I wonât acknowledge them at all,â Rebecca said firmly.
âGrandma.â Rosalie held Rebeccaâs hand, deeply touched. âWhat if Theo meets a better woman in
the future?â
âRose, Theo wonât find a woman better than you. Youâre the most suitable for him.â As she spoke,
she hesitated. âRest assured, I wonât let you be mistreated for nothing.â
Rosalie felt uneasy. âGrandma, what do you mean?â
âItâs nothing, youâll find out at noon.
