Chapter 169
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
The memory of Cynthia claiming that Theodore would defend her just half an hour ago flashed past
Rosalieâs mind.
Cynthia had a reason for being so confident. Theodore really was
defending her. Even if he knew Cynthia might have done it on
purpose, he still chose to defend her
How much did he love her to defend her to such an extent, despite knowing that she slandered his
grandmother?
âFine, itâs over since you said itâs over. But donât forget: just because itâs over, doesnât mean that it
never happened.â
Rosalie then turned to leave.
Theodore grabbed her arm to stop her. âWait, thereâs one more thing.â
âWhat else is there? If itâs about Cynthia, I donât want to hear it. Let me go.â
Just then, Rebecca and the rest walked in. âRose.â
âGrandma,â Rosalie said as she shook Theodoreâs hand off hard. She walked to Rebecca.
âGrandma, are you all right?â
âIâm fine, really. Weâve talked things through about what happened today,â Rebecca said, looking to
be in a good mood.
Sydney and Wesley were standing next to Rebecca.
Cynthia was with them as well, her head bowed and her face covered with streaks of tear stains.
Rosalie said, âGrandma, since youâve talked things through, Iâll head back first.â
âAll right. Youâve kept me company over the past few days, itâs time for you to head back home for
some rest. Butâ¦â Rebecca turned to glance at Cynthia. âMs. Zeller will be heading back home.
Theo, are you going to send Rose or Ms. Zeller home?â
Theodore stood up from the couch, and straightened out his jacket.
Rosalie knew what Theodore would say even before he spoke. She said to Rebecca, âGrandma,
just have the driver send me back home. I
âRose, Iâll send you home,â Theodore said as he appeared behind her. Letâs go home. I havenât
returned in a while.â
Rosalie furrowed her brows as a look of surprise flashed past her face. She turned to look at him,
thinking she might have misheard him. She finally snapped back to attention after a while.
âArenât you going to send Cynthia back?â
Cynthia didnât expect Theodore to say that either, and glanced at him pitifully.
âCindy, the driver will send you home. I have something to attend to today,â he said.
He had to send Rosalie home.
Cynthia knew it wasnât a good idea to bug him under such circumstances, and had no choice but to
bite her lip and nod.
Rebecca smiled. âAll right, head back home now. You two can talk when you reach home.â
âMom.â Sydney stepped forward., âIâll head off too. Iâll come and visit you again next time.â
âSure, go on ahead.â
When Sydney turned to leave, Wesley bade Rebecca a hasty farewell as well. âIâll head off, too.â
Rebecca nodded as she saw Wesley follow closely behind Sydney.
âI have something to talk to you about,â he said.
âI have nothing to say to you,â Sydney snapped.
âItâs business.â
Wesley ran in pursuit of Sydney, thinking of all ways to follow behind her.
Rebecca shook her head helplessly. âTheo, just take a look at your father. Heâs regretting it so
much that your mother refuses to talk to him.â
Theodore said nothing further to her, but turned to Rosalie. âLetâs go.â
He held Rosalieâs hand without a word, and took her away.
Rosalie walked behind Theodore, a perplexed look on her face.
He was speaking up for Cynthia just moments ago, behaving all biased toward her and lacking in
logic. Yet now, there was such a sudden reversal in his attitude.
Rosalie had no idea what he was thinking.
