Chapter 170
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
Rosalie sat in the front passenger seat in the car while Theodore drove on in silence.
There were a few times Rosalie had the urge to speak, but seeing Theodore remaining silent made
her hold herself back.
It felt like a competition in which the first to speak loses.
Just as that thought popped into Rosalieâs mind, Theodore spoke up.
âI hope you wonât think about what happened today again.â
Rosalie furrowed her brows. âThen why are you mentioning it again?â
âI just want to make things clear. Iâll look into what exactly happened with the operation.â
Rosalie scoffed. âIn that case, youâre admitting that you think. Grandma did it even before
investigating things.â
Theodore said, âIt is precisely because I think that Grandmaâs the one. that I didnât go ahead with
the investigations. Whatever it is, Cindy. has already paid the price.â
Rosalie sneered, âSo, whatever she says is right and whatever she does will be forgiven, just
because of her health condition?â
âWhat if it were you? Do you want to be in poor health like Cindy and pitied, or to be in good health
but misunderstood?â
Rosalie chuckled. âSo being in poor health allows you to receive unconditional protection and pity.
Iâve learned something new today.â
According to his logic, a person can do whatever she likes because of her poor health, and be
forgiven even when she does something wrong. Such a person was to be pitied, after all.
Theodore didnât explain himself further on this matter. Since it was already over, then so be it.
The more he explained himself, the more it might upset Rose, he thought.
âLetâs go through with the divorce today. Weâll head home to fetch the resident register. We canât
delay this any longer,â Rosalie said.
âRose, I want to discuss the divorce with you.â
âWhat about it do you want to discuss?â Rosalie asked.
Theodore suggested, âShall we not get a divorce for the time being?â
Rosalie was stunned. âWhat did you say?â
âLetâs not get a divorce for now,â he repeated himself.
Rosalie suddenly laughed out loudânot out of joy, but because she found the entire situation
laughable,
âWhat exactly is wrong with you?! You were the one who asked for a divorce in the first place. Fine,
I can accept that many things have happened that stopped us from going through with the divorce.
But now, youâre telling me that you donât want a divorce? Whatâs this? Do you have some sort of
fetish that makes the prospect of being with Cynthia less thrilling after the divorce?â
She really couldnât understand this man.
Theodoreâs brows were tightly knitted.
âI didnât mean that,â he said.
âSo what exactly did you mean?â
âYou saw for yourself what happened today. The Spencers will never approve of Cindy. Grandma
said many things to me, but one thing is for sure: sheâs getting older, and her health is deteriorating.
If we get
a divorce now, sheâll feel terrible even if she doesnât say it. That would be detrimental to her
health.â
âBut Grandma said that sheâll be happy as long as Iâm happy. Iâll still come visit her frequently even
after the divorce.â
âI know. Grandma wants you to be happy, and thatâs why she agrees to our divorce. But you know
very well that sheâll certainly feel sad about it. If you donât believe me, call Zane and ask him how
her mood has been ever since she found out that you want to divorce me.â
Rosalie picked up her phone, and called Zane.
A few minutes later, Rosalie hung up and remained silent for a long while.
Theodore finally asked, âWell? Did you get an answer?â
Rosalie remained silent.
Rebecca had indeed been unhappy. Zane told her that she kept sighing and would even weep in
secret, blaming herself for how things turned out.
