Chapter 178
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
A friend in need is a friend indeed. Stephanie personally witnessed. Rosalie shielding her with her
own body despite her pregnancy. Such a friend was a friend Stephanie was determined to keep her
entire life.
âDonât be so polite with me. Weâre friends! Of course we should help. each other out. Theyâve been
taken away by the police and will pay the price for their actions. Iâll also speak to Theodore and see
if he can keep them behind bars for longer. They are utterly unreasonable,â Rosalie said with fury.
âRosalie, did you cry?â Stephanie saw the redness in Rosalieâs eyes.
Rosalie chuckled awkwardly.
âIt must be because of your husband,â Stephanie surmised. âAt first, I had some reservations about
your him. From what I saw today, my perspective of him has changed. No matter what, he was
willing to protect you at the most critical moment. Very few men are capable of doing that.â
âYeah, itâs just a pityâ¦â Rosalie sighed. âI feel very conflicted. I canât deny heâs good in some areas,
but he and Cynthiaâ¦â
She smiled bitterly.
âIf I hadnât married Theo, we might be as close as siblings and I wouldnât feel so miserable.
Theodore would simply be a good man to me, and his relationship with Cynthia would be none of
my business. The only mistake that happened was that I married him and became pregnant with his
child.â
Rosalie looked down, and caressed her belly.
In this world, there was no such thing as a perfect life or a perfect
husband.
âRose, are you really never going to tell him about the baby? You
should know that your stomach will only grow bigger. You wonât be able to hide this for long if youâre
not getting a divorce,â Stephanie said.
âYeah, I wonât.â
Rosalie didnât tell Theodore about it at the start because she thought they were going to get a
divorce, and that she would leave after that
But now that they werenât getting a divorce for the time being, which might be the case for the next
few months or even years, she knew the truth would be out sooner or later.
âRose, you better think this through. If youâre not getting a divorce, I suggest you tell him about it. If
he found out about it himself, you might be in for another fight.â
âWhat if he doesnât want the child?â Rosalie said, worried.
âYouâre so silly,â Stephanie said. âThis child belongs to you, too. So what if he doesnât want it? If you
insist on giving birth, he canât do anything about it. If he forces you to have an abortion, just run far
away. Would he really search for you to the ends of the world just to force you to abort the baby?
Whatâs moreâ¦â
After pondering for a moment, Stephanie went on, âHe might want this child, for all you know. He
might be very happy to hear the news, and decide to cut things off with Cynthia for good and live
with you the rest of his life.â
Rosalieâs heart ached. âSteph, donât give me hope. I might just take it seriously.â
She no longer dared to hold out hope in her heart. Being hopeful and then having her hopes
dashed would thoroughly break her heart.
+
âI just want you to give things a chance. The worst case scenario would just be you leaving him. You
two are staying married only for the time being. Who knows what will happen in the future? You
really wonât be able to keep your pregnancy under wraps for longer.â
What Stephanie said made sense.
Rosalie nodded. âOkay, Iâll think it through.â
