Chapter 179
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
At night, Rosalie returned home with Theodore.
They had dinner outside, and were ready to wash up and retire for the night. After helping Theodore
back to his room, Rosalie grabbed her bag and turned to leave.
However, Theodore grabbed her arm. âWhere are you going?â
âWash up and get some rest soon. Iâm going back to my own room.â
âRose, this is your room.â
Rosalie looked down at his hand enveloping hers. âWeâve been sleeping separately.â
She remembered the night before, when she went to Grandmaâs to steal the resident register. She
did sleep with Theodore, but that was only because she thought that was their last night together.
She didnât expect them to continue being together and dragging things out.
âWeâre not getting a divorce for now, right? Thereâs no need to sleep in separate rooms, then. Come
back and sleep in this room,â he said in all seriousness.
Rosalieâs heart raced. She retracted her hand after mustering up her courage, and said, âThatâs not
a very good idea. Not getting a divorce for now is just temporary. Get some rest and sleep early.â
She insisted on leaving.
Theodore stared at her retreating figure, and sighed. Suddenly, he took a few steps back, covered
his forehead with his hand, and groaned.
Rosalie rushed back to hold him. âWhatâs with you?â
Theodore leaned weakly into her embrace, and panted. âIâm fine, go rest. Iâll be fine by myself.â
He stubbornly but gently nudged her away as he stumbled to the bed and collapsed on it.
âTheo. â
Rosalie hugged him from behind, and slowly helped him onto the bed.
It seemed as though Theodore couldnât even sit straight, and had to lean his head against her
shoulders.
His breathing was labored as he said, âLeaveâ¦leave me. Iâll be fine after lying down for a while.â
His tone was stubborn, yet sounded a tinge pitiful.
He claimed he wanted her to leave, but his body lay pliantly in her arms like a lifeless rag doll. His
arms seemed to have a will of its own as they gently held the hem of her shirt and tugged it back
and forth.
His mouth and his body seemed to be two separate entitiesâone an adult, one a child.
Seeing him like this, Rosalie couldnât bear to leave. What if something happened to him in the
middle of the night while he was all alone in his room?
âThe doctor instructed you to rest well these few days. Turn in early.â
She felt that Theodore had been through many things in the past few days. He got into a car
accident, suffered from gastric problems, and now, he had gotten his head hit.
She wondered if the heavens were punishing him somehow. If that
were the case, it was certainly sufficient punishment. He didnât do anything grievously wrong in the
first place, anyway.
Theodore looked up piteously at her. âArenât you going back to your room?â
âIâm not. Iâll stay here and keep you company.â
Rosalie gave in, not bearing to just leave him like this and go back to her room.
Theodore smiled, the corner of his lips tinged with smugness. He
grabbed Rosalieâs hand, his thumbs gently caressing the back of her hand.
âWhat about tomorrow night? Will you go back to your room
tomorrow night?â
âIâ¦â Before Rosalie could answer him, he grabbed her hand nervously.
A powerful and authoritative CEO of a huge company, now looked nothing more than a little boy
trying to have his way.
Since they werenât getting a divorce for now, Rosalie didnât want them to keep being at loggerheads
with each other. That was no good for her baby, either.
She was even considering finding a time to tell him about her
pregnancy, which made it even more crucial that there was peace between them for now. They
couldnât possibly be sleeping separately when she told him that she was pregnant.
She should find a suitable time to relay the truth to him gently, while she was in his arms.
