Chapter 202
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
âI wonât go back on my word. Since Iâve given you my promise, Iâll
marry you.â
âThen tell me when,â Cynthia demanded in between sobs. âDonât tell
me youâll only do so after you find me a heart donor, and after the surgery is a success.â
ââ¦â
That was precisely what Theodore wanted to say. Now that Cynthia had said it first, he was
embarrassed to agree with it.
âWhy are you silent? Is that really what you think?â Cynthiaâs sobs grew louder. âTheo, Iâm no fool! I
know how difficult it is waiting for a suitable heart donor. For all I know, I might even die before your
manage to find one. You just donât want to marry me, which is why youâre trying to drag things out. If
thatâs the case, forget about finding a heart donor for me. Iâd rather not have a heart than to sit here
listening to your empty promises!â
Cynthia turned her face away in pain.
âTheo, leave! I donât want to see you again. Let me die alone, since no
one cares about me in this whole world anyway.â
Cynthia looked pitiful enough to begin with, and her sickly
countenance made her look even more miserable. Theodore couldnât
bear to see her like this, and his heart broke for her.
âDonât say that. Of course I care about you.â
âIf you really do, you wouldnât have lied to me time and time again. I feel like an idiot, stupidly
believing your words and ending up disappointed each time. Had I known this would happen, Iâd
rather die
on the operating table.â
âCindy, I forbid you to say that again Theodore said, his tone growing cold. âDonât keep talking
about death so easily.â
âWhy are you allowed to make empty promises, but I canât speak of death? Theo, Iâm utterly
disappointed in you. Youâll never marry me! Youâll neverâ¦â
âI will,â Theodore said with determination. âThis time, I promise I will marry you.â
âThen give me a date,â Cynthia urged. âDonât tell me itâll happen after the heart transplant surgery.
We donât even have a clue where my heart donor is. I donât want empty promises. I want concrete
action!â
Theodore was forced to a corner.
âAfter a few more days, when youâre well enough to get out of bed, weâll get married. Iâll order a
wedding gown for you today.â
He couldnât delay this any further. It was too difficult waiting for a suitable heart donor, and there
may not be enough time left for Cynthia.
Cynthia was delighted to hear what he said. âReally?â
âOf course. This time, I wonât drag things out. Iâll give you a beautiful wedding, and make you Mrs.
Spencer.â
This was the only thing he could give Cynthia.
âBut⦠Someone else is currently Mrs. Spencer,â Cynthia said
dejectedly. âArenât you two still not yet divorced?â
âIâll divorce her in the next two days. I wonât make you wait any longer. I swear, if I lie to you, I
willâ¦â
âDonât,â Cynthia said, covering his lips with her hand and looking achingly at him. âDonât swear. I
canât bear it if anything happens to

you.â
Theodore gently removed her fingers from his lips, and said tenderly, Give me two days. Iâll make
the divorce official, okay?â
Cynthia nodded. âOkay, I trust you. Iâll give you two days. If youâre still not divorced after two days, I
really would rather die.â
When Theodore left Cynthia, she had fallen asleep due to exhaustion
Theodore sat in the lounge for a long time before finally pulling out his phone to call Rosalie.
However, he found her phone switched off
