Chapter 209
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
Rosalieâs husband seemed to be such a horrible bastard, they werenât even willing to identify him.
âAlso,â Sebastian reminded Yvonne, âdonât go to her with so many questions. If you upset her, I
wonât spare you.â
Sebastian shot his sister a warning look when he issued his threat. He even pointed his ladle at her,
as if he would hit her on the head with it if she dared to disobey him.
Yvonne took a few steps back. Pouting, she muttered, âFine, I wonât ask! Why are you being so
fierce? You actually look pretty happy to me.â
Sebastianâs face turned cold upon hearing her ridiculous words.â What did you say?â
âI said that you look happy to see her getting a divorce with her husband.â
âYvonne Carter, are you asking for a beating?â Sebastian said solemnly. âIf you are, just ask me for
one directly. I wonât go easy on you.â
âIâm telling the truth,â Yvonne said gleefully. âDonât think that I canât tell how secretly happy you are.â
Sebastian felt embarrassed at being seen through by Yvonne. Was it that obvious?
He couldnât completely deny what Yvonne said, but it wasnât exactly the truth either. He didnât feel
good seeing Rosalie so upset.
Sebastian shot her a cold look
stove
Yvonne had been cheeky since she was a child. Now that she found her aloof brother in love with a
married woman who was also
pregnant, she couldnât help but find it amusing.
âSo, youâre actually willing to be a father. How very admirable!â
Sebastian smacked the ladle down on the counter, then grabbed the vegetable knife on the
chopping board and charged toward her.
Frightened, Yvonne fled.
Sebastian didnât chase after her. Instead, he turned back and flung the knife aside in frustration.
When Yvonne reached the door, she turned and said, âSeb, cook more. I want some, too.â
âDid you not eat while you were outside? Trying to get some free food at home, are you?â he said
irritably.
âWould eating your food bankrupt you? Am I not your beloved sister? Look at how petty and twoâ
faced you are.â
He was so tender and loving to Rosalie, the picture of a perfect, gallant man. And yet, he went to
the extent of almost hacking his very own sister with a knife. What a scary twoâfaced person!
Sebastian couldnât be bothered to reply to her. Though he said nothing more, he quietly added a
portion for her.
After dinner was served, Sebastian wanted to head upstairs to call Rosalie down for dinner.
Yvonne held him back. âSeb, let me do it.â
Sebastian scoffed, âWhat are you trying to do?â
âWeâre both women. Itâs more appropriate for me to go.â
Sebastian pondered for a moment before saying, âAll right. Watch your tongue and spew any
nonsense. Do you hear me?â
âI know. Donât you trust me at all?â
With that, Yvonne walked leisurely up the stairs. This time, Sebastian. didnât stop her.
When Yvonne reached the door to Rosalieâs room, she raised her hand and knocked gently. âRose,
itâs time for dinner.â
After a while, Rosalie opened her door. Yvonne got a fright upon seeing her pale face.
âWhat happened to you? Do you feel unwell, or are you having a fever again?â
Yvonne reached out to touch Rosalieâs forehead. Her temperature felt normal, but she looked
awful.
Rosalie forced a smile. âIâm fine. Youâre back.â
âIâm sorry, I should have been keeping you company this afternoon,â Yvonne said.
She wanted some fun, and headed out when she found it dull staying at home alone.
Rosalie said indifferently, âItâs all right. I wasnât in the mood to hang. out, anyway. Go ahead and
have fun, and donât worry about me.â
