Chapter 23
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
Rose, did you need something?â
Theodore didnât directly answer her question, but it was true. Cynthial was his junior.
âI need to fill out my preferences for my university entrance exams. Do you have any suggestions
regarding majors?â
Theodore continued working with his head down as he replied, â Choose something youâre
interested in.â
âThen, Iâll chooseâ¦â
âSorry to interrupt,â said Cynthia from the office doorway. âMr. Spencer, Mr. Johnson is online and
waiting for you.â
Theodore hummed in response and closed the file he was holding. Iâll be right there.â
As he walked past Rosalie, he said, âIâm a bit busy. Letâs talk later.â
âOh, okay,â Rosalie replied, looking somewhat disappointed as she
lowered her head.
Noticing the lack of movement behind him, Theodore stopped and turned around. Eventually, he
approached Rosalie and grasped her
shoulder.
âWhatâs wrong?â
âItâs nothing. You should go attend to your business,â Rosalie said, fearing she would delay him
further.
âTell me what major you want to study,â he insisted, not rushing away.
Rosalie looked up, noticing Cynthia at the door. The older woman
looked professional, seeming to portray the image of a strong, Independent woman.
âI want to study finance,â Rosalie said, wanting to work alongside Theodore and be on par with him.
âYou like finance?â Theodore asked.
Rosalie nodded. âYes, I do.â
âAlright, then study that. After you graduate, I can arrange a job for
you.â
âCan I work at SK Enterprise?â Rosalie asked softly.
âOf course, I need talents in finance,â he replied, gently patting her shoulder before turning and
leaving.
As he reached the door, he turned back and added, âRose, apply to universities in Ashwick, okay?
Donât go too far.â
Because of Theodoreâs words, she had ultimately chosen finance as her major. Unfortunately, he
no longer needed her now.
âSince you didnât leave halfway through my speech, you must have heard me say that Iâve never
regretted that decision. So, why are your accusing me of deceiving you?â Rosalie asked.
She didnât blame Theodore or regret it, but he was accusing her now.
After staring at her silently for a moment, Theodore released her shoulder, fastened her seatbelt,
and drove away. Though his
expression was cold, he looked ready to erupt at any moment, like a volcano..
âWhatâs your relationship with that man?â he asked. His tone was indifferent, but the veins on the
back of his hand bulged as he gripped the steering wheel.
âThereâs nothing between us. Heâs just a major shareholder at
Ashwick University
And? Theodore pressed
âThereâs nothing more than that. I have no connection to tem. Vivet
da you want me to say?â
âDoes that mean you only met him today?
Actually, Rosalie had met him before, but she wasnât sure if she should tell Theodore about it.
In the end, she said, âYes, today was the first time Iâve seen him.â
It was better to not mention the past. Talking about it was troublesome, and Theodore would just
ask more questions. At her answer, the bulging veins on the back of the manâs hand seemed to
diminish, and his fiery gaze gradually subsided.
âYou shouldnât have acted like that today.â Rosalie was a bit angry. 1 fell, and he helped me. You
humiliated him too much.â
Although Theodore didnât explicitly say it at the time, his behavior, his tone, his gaze â anyone with
eyes could see that he had been targeting Sebastian.
To Rosalie, Sebastian had saved her unborn child.
âSo, now youâre accusing me for the sake of a man you just met?â Theodore asked.
Theodore and Rosalie had known each other for ten years. Was he less than Sebastian?
âIt doesnât matter how long weâve known each other. Iâm just dealing with the matter at hand.â
âJust dealing with the matter? Clearly, youâre biased!â
Rosalie was almost amused by this manâs irritation. âBy your logic, where does your bias lean when
it comes to Cynthia and I?â
If thatâs the case, why did he bring up divorce? If he was also guilty of doing the same, why was he
blaming her?
Theodoreâs brow furrowed. âWhy are you bringing her up?â
âWhy are you targeting others for no reason?â Rosalie retorted.
Screechâ¦!
Theodore slammed on the brakes, bringing the car to a stop on the side of the road and causing the
vehicle to jolt violently. Though Rosalie was wearing her seatbelt, her body still lurched forward, and
combined with her discomfort, she almost threw up.
âTheodore, what are you doing?!â
