Chapter 27
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
âGo on a walk with me outside,â Sebastian said.
âHuh?â Rosalie thought she had misheard. âWhere do you want to go?â
âNot out of the hospital, just around the vicinity, okay?â
âOf course. But isnât it too simple? You really just want my company on a walk?â
âWhatâs wrong? Are you unwilling to do that?â
âNo, Iâm fine with it. But can you walk?â
1 can. My legs arenât broken.â
Sebastian got out of bed, but after taking just a few steps, he suddenly clutched his chest, his brows
furrowing slightly.
Rosalie hurriedly supported him. âLet me find you a wheelchair.â
âNo need, I want to walk.â
Seeing Sebastianâs stubbornness, Rosalie didnât argue further and helped him walk out of the
hospital room. As they turned the corner of the corridor, they met a couple walking towards them.
Rosalieâs face paled in surprise when she saw them â it was
Theodore and Cynthia, what a coincidence!
Theodore was supporting Cynthia, who looked extremely exhausted and unwell.
When Theodore noticed Rosalie, his gaze fell on her hand, which was intertwined with Sebastianâs
arm. A coldness surged in his eyes.
As the four of them stood staring at each other, the air seemed to freeze, and silence lingered for
several seconds.
720 SONUS
âWhy are you here?â asked Theodore coldly, as if Rosalie shouldnât be there.
Rosalie intended to release Sebastianâs arm, but seeing Theodore
also supporting Cynthia, she felt there was nothing to be guilty about.
She hadnât done anything wrong, so she openly said, âMr. Carter got injured helping me, so I came
to the hospital to see him. Arenât your also here with Ms. Zeller?â
Cynthia hurriedly explained, âI think youâve misunderstood. I wasnât feeling well and couldnât find
anyone else to help me, so I called Theo.
Rosalie smiled. âI didnât misunderstand. Arenât things between you exactly as they look?â
Seeing Rosalieâs relaxed expression, Theodore felt very
uncomfortable, as if something had pricked his heart. It wasnât a sharp pain, but a slow buildâup
from the deepest part of his soul.
He fixed his icy gaze on Sebastian, but spoke to Rosalie, âYouâre done with your visit, right? Go
home.â
Rosalie scoffed at the commanding tone. If one didnât know any
better, theyâd think they were in the olden days when women couldnât go out.
âSorry, I promised to accompany Mr. Carter for a walk. You better
take care of Ms. Zeller.â
Theodore was in the hospital with another woman, so what gave him the right to order her to go
home? Such double standards!
âMr. Carter, letâs go,â said Rosalie, supporting him as they brushed past Theodore and Cynthia.
Theodoreâs expression turned unusually unpleasant, his eyes
flickering with intense anger. Driven by an impulse, he let go of Cynthia and was about to turn
around to follow them when suddenly, Cynthiaâs frail body swayed to the side.
Cynthia exclaimed in shock at Theodoreâs sudden action. Hearing the commotion, Theodore turned
back and quickly caught her.
âCindy, are you okay?â
Rosalie tumed her head and saw Theodoreâs caring demeanor
towards Cynthia. It was as if he feared that Cynthia would suffer terribly if she had even a small
injury. The very sight of them hurt her heart..
Theodore was distracted attending to Cynthia. By the time he looked up again, Rosalie and
Sebastian had disappeared.
Sebastian and Rosalie arrived at the lawn around the hospital. The scenery there was beautiful, it
even had a small lake that was surrounded by many pavilions.
Rosalie helped Sebastian sit on a chair in one of the pavilions. The afternoon sun lazily bathed
everything in its warm light.
Sebastian turned and saw Rosalie close her eyes, tilting her head slightly towards the sun. Her fair
cheeks instantly gleamed with a bright radiance, appearing lovely and charming. Sebastian gazed
at her for a while. When he saw Rosalie open her eyes, he calmly looked away without making it
obvious he had been looking at her.
