Chapter 344
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
âBecause I know how you feel. Your whole family despises you, you have no status at home, and no
one invites you to any celebrations. Youâre practically being driven out, so youâre clinging onto
Theodore for dear life. Marrying him is your only way out, your chance to hold your head high, and
perhaps even to get back at the Zellers!â
Every single detail of Cynthiaâs life was completely exposed before the man.
Cynthia gritted her teeth, and said word by word, âWho exactly are you?â
The man smiled. âI am your fatherâs illegitimate childâyour brother.â
Cynthia was thunderstruck.
âWhat did you say?!â
âI said, Iâm just like you. Iâm not accepted by anyone. Your father had an affair back then, but after
my mom gave birth to me, he abandoned me. Weâre both children of the Zellers, so why should I
suffer outside alone? Thatâs why we have the same goal. Iâll help you get a heart, and when I need
your help, you must help me too. Both of us will benefit from it.â
Cynthia hadnât fully registered what she just heard,
âDonât be so surprised,â the man said. âAlmost all wealthy old men. have illegitimate children.
Moreover, my appearance poses no threat to your position, because you never had a high status
among the Zellers. Now that Iâm here, the two of us can work together.â
Cynthia was still staring at him in shock.
This man turned out to be the illegitimate child of her father. Now, he
appeared out of the blue and wanted to cooperate with her.
So this was his purpose! She initially thought he was Theodoreâs enemy. As it turned out, his target
was the Zellers.
âWhy should I trust you?â
âWhy shouldnât you trust me?â the man countered.
âIâ¦â Cynthia seemed unable to find a reason not to trust him.
âIâve already found a suitable heart. All you need to do now is to undergo surgery.â
Cynthiaâs heart trembled. âReally?! When can I do that?â
âDonât worry. You wonât die anytime soon.â
âYou came to me on your own initiative, and now, youâre telling me not to be anxious. What exactly
do you want?â
âMy point is, the donor is still alive and kicking, so itâll take some time to resolve.â
Cynthia understood. âThen you better work hard.â
âI will. But after I save you, itâll be your turn to work hard.â
âThen letâs talk about it after my surgery.â
Cynthia still harbored some doubts. Could this sudden appearance of her illegitimate brother really
get her a heart?
âBy the way, whatâs your name?â she asked. She hadnât had time to
ask for his name the last time.
âYou can call me Yerick.â
âYerick?â
Cynthia still hadnât digested what Yerick just told her. She was
confused how all this came about.
Yerick turned around, and sat on the edge of the bed.
Cynthia shifted her body to the side, looking vigilant. âWhat are you doing?â
âNothing. I just saw your love rival at the hospital,â Yerick said.
âMy love rival?â Cynthia immediately thought of Rosalie. âYou saw her? What is she doing at the
hospital? Is she here with Theodore?â
âLook at how anxious you are,â Yerick sneered. âAre you worried Theodore will get back together
with his exâwife?â
Cynthiaâs expression was sour. âDonât play games with me. Who did she come here with?â
âSebastian,â Yerick told her, syllable by syllable.
Cynthia seemed to have heard that name somewhere before. Right! She had seen Rosalie causing
trouble with someone named Sebastian at the resort.
Seeing Cynthiaâs expression, Yerick asked, âDo you know Sebastian?â
âI do,â Cynthia said. âHeâs a waiter at the resort.â
She looked disdainful. âRosalieâs nothing without Theo. Sheâs only fit to be with a lowly waiter now.â
âOh, really?â Yerick narrowed his eyes, a mocking light flashing in them. âSo, Sebastian is a waiter.â
How clueless was Cynthia? She wasnât observant at all.
âYes. By the way, how did you know his name is Sebastian?â Cynthia asked.
âI know everything,â Yerick said dismissively. He stood up from the bed, and extended his hand.
âWell then, letâs have a pleasant
cooperation, sister.â
Cynthia didnât want to shake hands with him, but she had to rely on him to get her a heart.
Reluctantly, she suppressed her discomfort. and raised her hand to shake his while thinking, âHow
can someone like you be my brother?â
After they let go of each otherâs hands, Yerick said, âRest well. The heart issue will be resolved
soon.â
âLetâs hope so.â Cynthia clenched her hand into a fist under the blanket. âAre you really not lying to
me?â
âMy dear sister, whether you believe it or not, things have already begun. I have to go now. See
you.â
Then, Yerick turned and left the ward.
