Chapter 39
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
Wesley turned his head. âWhatâs the matter? Youâre really something, always eyeing something else
while not being satisfied with what you already have.â
Theodore was momentarily at a loss for words, but still unwilling to relinquish Rosalieâs hand.
Cynthia gritted her teeth, a hint of unwillingness flashing in her eyes as she put on another pitiful
act.
âUncle, itâs all my fault. Iâm sorry, I-â
âSince you know itâs all your fault, then just kill yourself already,â Wesley ruthlessly interrupted her.
Rosalie was shocked. In fact, she hadnât met her fatherâinâlaw many times, and was quite afraid of
him. He rarely smiled, and Rebecca didnât mention him much either. All she knew was that her
fatherâin- law and his wife seemed to have a bad relationship. The couple lived separately, which
made Rosalie think her fatherâinâlaw didnât value marriage much.
A shocked Cynthiaâs lips trembled. âIâ¦â
âDad, youâre going too far.â Theodore frowned, his voice icy. âItâs not. Cindyâs fault, itâs all my fault.
Blame me if you want to blame
someone.â
âFine, itâs your fault. Kill yourself, then.â Wesleyâs sharp gaze turned to Theodore. âGo ahead. The
window is open, isnât it? Jump out and die to atone for your sins!â
Theodore seemed taken aback by his fatherâs words, his expression extremely unpleasant.
âTheo, donât. Cynthia grabbed his arm, shaking her head desperately.
âWhich one of you is going to die? Didnât you both admit it was your fault? Then, die together,â
Wesley said impatiently, showing no mercy. to his own son.
Rosalie looked at Wesley in astonishment. She hadnât expected him. to be so harsh even when
speaking to his son.
In reality, most parents would protect their children first. Even if they were to be unbiased and side
with the other party in a conflict, they wouldnât speak so harshly. By actually telling his own son to
kill
himself, Wesley was drawing a clear line.
Amidst her shock, Rosalie felt a hint of satisfaction: Finally, there was someone who didnât buy into
Cynthiaâs act.
The atmosphere became tense.
Rosalie, being pulled by both her handsome fatherâinâlaw and her husband at the same time, felt
the scene was somewhat odd.
She gently freed herself from their grasp and said, âDad, Iâll leave first.â
With that, Rosalie turned and walked out. Just as Theodore was about to call her back, Wesley
stepped in to block him.
Theodore frowned. âDad, what are you doing?â
âYou should ask yourself what youâre doing. Iâm not going to explain further. If you get it, you get it. If
you donât, my words wonât matter,â Wesley replied.
He turned to leave. As he reached the door, he suddenly turned back to Cynthia and added, âIt
wasnât just my mother who didnât want you to be part of the Spencer family. Do you think it was her
decision alone? Even though sheâs old, Iâm still here. I have plenty of time to wait things out.â
Angry, Cynthia cried out, âWhat did I do wrong? Is it wrong to love someone? I justâ¦â
Bang! The office door slammed shut.
Before Cynthia could finish her sentence, Wesley had already turned and left, not giving her a
chance to argue. Even if Cynthiaâs acting skills were excellent, no amount of acting would work
when faced with someone who inherently disliked people who were fake.
âTheo, itâs all my fault. Iâve caused you and your father to have this fight. Iâm sorry,â Cynthia choked
out as she sobbed uncontrollably, struggling to catch her breath.
