Chapter 40
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
Theodore gently patted Cynthiaâs slender back. âDonât worry, Iâll handle. everything.â
âIs it true that Iâll never be able to be part of the Spencer family? Are we really never going to be
together?â
Thinking of Wesleyâs words, Cynthia was furious. What was so great about Rosalie?! She was from
a humble background and wasnât
worthy of the Spencer familyâs protection!
Theodore frowned, his expression grave. âLetâs not think about that for now. Take care of yourself.â
âI donât think I can take care of myself anymore.â Cynthia wiped her tears. âTheo, I donât know how
long I have left. But even if itâs only for a short time, Iâll be happy as long as Iâm with you. Whether or
not we can make our status official doesnât matter anymore.â
âAlright, stop crying.â
Theodore didnât say much more. Instead, he bent down to tidy up the lunch boxes on the coffee
table. He took special care with the one with the chili peppers, covering it carefully.
âTheo, arenât you going to have lunch?â Cynthia asked.
âIâll take you out to eat.â He put away the lunch boxes, showing no intention of throwing them away.
âItâs all my fault. She was supposed to have lunch with you. Because of my misunderstanding, that
happened. Iâm sorry,â said Cynthia
guiltily.
âEnough.â
Theodore sounded impatient. Every time Cynthia apologized so desperately, he used to feel
guilty. But over time, he couldnât help but start to feel annoyed.
Cynthia trembled. âDâdid I do something wrong?â
Realizing his mood wasnât good, and that it showed, Theodore softened his tone, âNo.â
Cynthia wanted to ask about the divorce, but sensed Theodoreâs darkening expression, so she
swallowed her words, not daring to ask.
Rosalie hadnât gone far. She had been waiting nearby until Wesley came out, and she hurriedly
approached him as soon as he emerged. âDad, thank you for just now.â
Wesley gave her a cold glance. âSo, what are you going to do now? Continue living like this or get
divorced?â
ââ¦â
Continuing to live like this was out of the question. The divorce was Theodoreâs idea, but now it
seemed Rosalie needed it too. If Theodore was going to treat her like this, why bother persisting in
trying to save their marriage?
Seeing Rosalieâs expression, Wesley suddenly realized something. Are you really going to get
divorced?â
Rosalie wasnât going to hide anything anymore. Wesley had
experienced everything life could throw at him, so how could he not see through her facade?
âDad, you saw it too. He doesnât love me. Continuing like this will only hurt more people,â Rosalie
said.
Are you surrendering because your worried about hurting too m people, or because you feel that
youcant compete with Cynthiaâ Wesley inquired.
Taken aback, Rosalie stuttered,
âEnough.â Wesley interrupted affairs, what else can be done?
Rosalie hung her head in silence
you two canât handle your own
âOh, remember to go home tonight and have dinner with my mother She wants to have a family
gathering. Wesley added.
When Rusallie heard Wesley mention Rebecca, she couldnât help but feel anxious. âDad, can you
not tell Grandma about whatâs happening between Thee and 17â²â²
âSheâs my mother. Do you think you care more about her health than i do? You need to deal with
this quickly or all come out sooner or
dill later.â Wesley repiled
Rosale modded repeatedly. 1 understand handle it as soon as possibleâ
Wesleyâs gaze suddenly fell on the cystal bracelet on Rosalleâs wrist Nice bracelet
Rosalie felt like someone had stated her heart Gritting her teeth, she forcefully took the bracelet off
Seeing this. Wesley seemed to understand something âDonate it. It can help others, and you wonât
have to see it again.â
Rosalie nodded. âOkayâ
Just then, a womanâs soft voice rang out, âTheo, come to my place tonight Iâve learned how to cook
a delicious dish. I want to cook it for
Theodore and Cynthia had just walked out of the office.
As Cynthia spoke, she saw Wesley and Rosalie standing there. She looked surprised, quickly
covering her lips and hiding behind
Theodore, looking fragile and pitiful as if the whole world was out to get her. Almost instinctively,
Theodore shielded Cynthia behind him. Rosalie stared blankly at the scene before her, feeling a
sharp pain in her heart. The pain spread to her fingertips, causing her fingers to suddenly felt weak.
The crystal bracelet slipped from her fingers and fell onto the hard ground.
Crack!
The bracelet immediately shattered.
