Chapter 847: He makes all my nerves tingle
Pampered by my three brothers: the return of the neglected heiress
It was a good thing that Penny had someone maintain her place atop the Prime Group, just in case. Otherwise, spending a round of passion with her husband would have been a hassle.
"Though I have to say..." Penny stopped, tapping the vacant spot on the side of the bed. She turned to her side, where Zoren was hugging her. "This bed is a lot firmer than our bed."
Zoren chuckled, eyes closed, his chin resting on her bare shoulder. "Thatâs because no oneâs using it. Donât worry, itâll get softer soon."
"Soon?"
Zoren slowly opened his eyes, gazing at her. "I can come by here every once in a while to have lunch with you."
"You mean to make me your lunch?!"
"No?" he fluttered his eyelashes ever so tenderly. "My dessert, to be exact."
Penny gasped at her husband while he chuckled in a low baritone. She moved away, only to get pulled back into his arms.
"Should we sleep here tonight?" he wondered, closing his eyes as he settled into the comfort of their position. "I donât want to wear all those clothes again."
"Renren..." Penny called helplessly, rolling to her side until she was facing him. "How about Chunchun and Blacky? Theyâd be sad if we didnât go home. Moreover, we havenât prepared them for a night out. Iâm afraid theyâd throw tantrums."
And if those two threw a tantrum, it wouldnât be good for everyone. Zoren might not get angry about having his furniture broken, but Penny felt sorry for those who were guarding the home. It would be a night of terror for them.
Zoren snapped his eyes open and drew his head back. "Youâre right. We should go home."
"Hehe." Penny scooted closer, looking at him lovingly. "Itâs still early, though."
"It is."
"How are you out of the office so early?"
"Because I finished my tasks ahead of time, and surprisingly, Dean is being too cooperative."
"Oh?"
"Was that strange?"
"Depends on the level of cooperation. He doesnât like you, remember?"
Zoren thought about it for a moment and shrugged. "I donât think heâs doing it with bad intentions."
"Are you sure?" Penny asked suspiciously. "If youâre sure, then I wouldnât be worried."
"Yes, I am. I know him, and I know when heâs being cooperative for a reason. However, since the current project involves William, Iâm sure Dean is sending help because he wants to shift his attention to William."
Penny tilted her head. "Well, if you say so, then I guess everythingâs okay."
"Haha." Zoren carefully stroked her hair with his fingertips, settling them on her shoulder blades. He caressed her shoulder blade with the back of his hand, his eyes scanning the face that was just a palmâs length away from his.
He had always found himself staring at Penny, and the fact that he could now make out her facial features pleased him. Although part of him wanted to see her clearly right now, he knew he couldnât cheat his way there.
He tried, but all he saw was an unpleasant memory of the past.
"One more?" he asked out of nowhere, which wasnât rare between them.
"Hmm. Hehe." Penny giggled, and unlike what she expected, Zoren didnât lean over like usual.
Instead, Zoren narrowed his eyes slightly. "Penny, are you more forthcoming today because... you heard about the financial aid?"
"Hmm?" Penny hummed a short tune and shrugged. "You could say itâs one of the reasons. I mean, I was touched when I heard how youâve been helping her without her knowledge."
"I see." Zoren nodded in understanding. "Should I give you a list of the people Iâve helped?"
"Huh?"
He smiled, his eyes squinting. "Itâs a long list." She might just ask him to take a week off so they could be locked in together. He didnât mind.
As someone who had always been sick his whole life, he could always use the excuse of needing a general check-up or some rest for his health. But unlike his train of thought, Pennyâs face twitched because she could already hear the gears turning in his head.
"Tsk." Penny slapped his chest mildly. "Weâre going home, okay? Just one more, then weâll go home."
"You sure?" he asked, leaning closer.
Penny rolled her eyes, telling herself to stand firm this time. Otherwise, theyâd be going home at midnight, and sheâd need to be carried.

[Pierson Corporation]
Dean was sitting behind his desk, eyes on the monitor before him. His expression was sharp and dark, deep in thought.
Knock knock.
Even when he heard the knock on the door, he didnât bother looking to see who it was.
"Director?" his assistantâs voice was heard, standing in front of his desk. "Iâve received the data analysis we requested..."
Everything his assistant said fell on deaf ears because he wasnât listening. Even so, that didnât mean he wasnât aware of her presence.
"Directorâ"
"If youâre done, then go." Dean waved his hand dismissively, making his assistant study his face.
Dean hadnât taken his eyes off the computer screen. She was curious about what could be keeping him so invested, but then again, considering Zoren had announced his wifeâs identityâPennyâDean could just be focusing on things to distract himself.
"Itâs almost time to go home, Director," said the assistant politely.
"You go first. Leave me alone."
The assistant pressed her lips together and bowed. Without making another sound, she walked out of the office.
As for Dean, he glanced at the door when his assistant closed it. He clicked his tongue faintly, then shifted his eyes back to the screen. It showed the profile of a person who had piqued his interest not long ago.
"Jonathan Russel... huh?" he hummed, leaning back, swinging his chair from left to right. "Thereâs nothing special about his credentials, but somehow... he makes all my nerves tingle."
His right brow arched higher, growing more intrigued by the person claiming to be Zorenâs half-brother. Although this news hadnât been made public within the family and only a few knew about it, Dean already understood what this meant.
"For some unknown reason, I donât like him... and I donât like this feeling either."
