Sonia found Shaneâs nervousness endearing, and his awkwardness made
him seem a bit innocent, even cute.

âIâll drive, and weâll go on our date,â Shane said enthusiastically, grinning as he
saw Sonia smile. He realized just how blind he had been before, mistaking
fiery, difficult women for treasures when gentle girls like Sonia were the real
gems.
Sonia nodded and led him to the garage.
When Shane saw the rows of luxury cars in the Toma family garage, his eyes
lit up with excitement. He mentally declared that he was definitely going to be the Toma familyâs sonâinâlaw. After all, he had read 97 novels about marrying into wealthy familiesâhe was fully prepared for the role.
He eagerly chose a sleek Porsche convertible, the kind of car heâd always dreamed of driving with a girl by his side. Finally, his wish was coming true.
Just as they were about to leave, Emmanuel appeared, stopping them at the

âHaha, weâre going to look for Roselynn⦠and maybe squeeze in a little date!â
Shane said, trying to make it sound better, knowing full well that Emmanuel
was frantically searching for Roselynn while he was heading out on a date.
Emmanuel quirked a brow, seeing right through Shaneâs intentions.
âMiss Toma, are you willingly going out with him?â Emmanuel asked Sonia, though he hoped Shane would find a match, he also didnât want to force
anyone into a relationship that wouldnât bring happiness.
To his surprise, Sonia nodded obediently. âYes, Mr. Lowe, weâre going out, and
weâll ask around to see if we can find any information about your sister.â
âAlright, thank you,â Emmanuel said. Since Sonia seemed genuinely okay with it, he didnât press further. Plus, he knew Shaneâs luck often led to unexpected outcomesâmaybe heâd stumble upon a lead about Roselynn.
âHaha, off we go, then!â Shane grinned and drove off.

Once they were outside the villa, Shane asked, âSo, Miss Toma, where are we
heading? Iâm new here and have no idea where to go for a date in Eldoria.â
Sonia playfully glanced at him, teasingly poking her finger as she said,
âWerenât you supposed to be looking for Roselynn?â
âOh, right! Where should we start looking for her?â Shane quickly shifted gears,
realizing he needed to cover his tracks.
âYouâre quite sneaky,â Sonia teased with a laugh.
Shane wasnât offended; instead, he laughed along with her. âI prefer to call it
clever! âSneakyâ doesnât suit a hero like me.â
Sonia giggled, covering her mouth. She found Shaneâs sense of humor
endearing, even if it was a bit shameless, And despite his anties, she could
tell he wasnât driven by any bad intentions.
During her school years, Sonia had met plenty of men. While she wasnât as
stunning as Mackenzie or as gentle as Rhea, she still attracted many

admirers due to her wealthy background. She had developed a sharp sens
of when men were interested in her for the wrong reasons, but Shane didnât
give off that vibe at all.
âThereâs an opera playing today in Eldoria. Why donât you join me to watch it?â
Sonia suggested.
âAn opera?â Shane looked surprised.
âWhat? Donât you want to go?â Sonia asked, a bit disheartened, fearing that if
Shane wasnât interested, she might not get to see it either.
Thankfully, Shane quickly waved his hands, smiling. âNo, no! Iâd love to go! Iâm
just surprised that a fashionable beauty like you would be interested in
something as oldâfashioned as opera!â
âReally? You like opera too?â Soniaâs eyes sparkled with curiosity. It wasnât
often she met a man who enjoyed the same.
âOf course! Iâve loved it for years!â Shane said eagerly. âYou probably donât

know this, but my master would spend his days at home, drinking and
singing operas. I grew up listening to it, so I know quite a few songs myself!â
âReally?â Soniaâs interest was piqued. âSing me something then!â
Without hesitation, Shane began to sing. In the past, he had never considered
it much of a talent and was even embarrassed to mention it to girls. He
feared people would think he was oldâfashioned and out of touch. After all,
most young people didnât enjoy opera anymore, except for Santiago and a
few oldâtimers.
