Chapter 2116 The Great Hero Quintus!

Quintus was baffled. Despite his loud proclamation, no one of the terrified women dared to move.

“Why aren’t you running? Go!” he shouted, his frustration mounting.

When no one budged, he grabbed the nearest girl by the arm and demanded, “What’s going on? Are you pretending to resist while secretly hoping those men will harm you?”

“No, it’s not that,” the girl winced in pain, her eyes filled with tears. “We can’t escape.

“Why not?” Quintus asked, his grip tightening in urgency.

His comrades from the Wolf Warrior Unit watched in surprise. Isn’t this the delicate girl he’s supposed to treat with care?

“Mr. Quintus, calm down!” Solana intervened.

Only then did Quintus release the girl, quickly apologizing, “Sorry, I lose control when I’m angry. Did I hurt you?”

“No, I’m fine,” the girl replied. “We’re from a remote village in the mountains. It’s so isolated that the Five Poison Sect targets us. Every year, they come and take young, unmarried women. We’re all registered. If anyone tries to escape, they’ll send people to our village and kill our families.”

Quintus‘ anger flared at this, and he punched a nearby stone wall, leaving a sizable hole in it.

The women around him gasped in surprise but also felt a glimmer of hope. This powerful man might be

their savior.

“This is outrageous! The Five Poison Sect is beyond lawless, completely inhumane!” Quintus fumed.

Solana, more composed, asked, “What do they want with you?”

At that, a group of women began to sob.

The girl’s eyes, swollen from crying, explained, “They use us as sacrifices for their Serpent King.”

“Sacrifices? The Serpent King?” Quintus shouted in disbelief. “Does this demon still demand sacrifices in this day and age?”

“Yes,” the girl replied. “They say he’s a monster that looks like a snake. Every year, he demands hundreds of women for blood rituals to enhance his powers.”

“Hundreds of women? This is unbelievable!” Quintus roared, his fury mounting.

The description of the Serpent King, with his serpent–like appearance, reminded Quintus of Emmanuel’s Snake Slave. Could there be a connection?

“In any case, as long as the Serpent King lives, we can’t escape. If we try, our families will suffer. Thank you for trying to save us, but perhaps we should never have asked for help. Our fate is sealed,” the girl sobbed.

“Enough with the crying already!” Quintus snapped. “It’s getting on my nerves!”

The young girl and the other women initially showed great joy, but their expressions quickly shifted to doubt and even fear.

“Sir, we appreciate your good intentions and are truly grateful. But the Serpent King is terrifying–he’s rumored to be a demon. We, as humans, cannot hope to defeat him. Please, you must leave before it’s too

late!”

To these women, the Serpent King was the embodiment of evil, an unstoppable monster. Their fear of him had been ingrained deeply in their bones. Despite their miserable situation, they didn’t want to harm anyone and had resigned themselves to their fate.

“D*mn it! I refuse to believe it! I’ll handle the Serpent King. Now, follow me quickly!” Quintus, already impatient, stamped his feet in frustration.

“Hahaha, did you really think you could invade the Five Poison Sect’s territory and escape? A smug voice rang out from outside the door.

Moments later, a man wearing a brown robe and long hair entered. His face was pale, and the dark circles under his eyes made him look far from normal. Behind him, a group of Five Poison Sect minions followed.

“It’s over, the Central Protector has arrived!” The young girl trembled in fear. “They’re all masters of poison. We won’t escape!”

“Rubbish! Watch me take care of these monsters!” Quintus, eager to show off in front of the women, was ready to face the so–called Central Protector.

Solana raised her hands and shouted, “Watch me burn these small–fry serpents and monsters!”

But her usual control over flames failed her, and she suddenly felt weak and sluggish.

“They’ve released poisonous gas! We need to leave immediately!” Solana shouted, but it was already too late.

“No matter how skilled you are, you’ll only meet death on our turf!” The Central Protector gloated. “This sealed stone chamber is the perfect place to unleash poisonous gas. Hahaha!”

As he reveled in his victory, a massive fist appeared before him. Before he could react, it crushed him into oblivion, smashing through the stone wall with a loud crash.

“D*mn it! How much blabbering can a villain do? Watch me finish you off!” Quintus growled impatiently before launching another attack on the remaining Five Poison Sect members.

In reality, there weren’t many people at this hideout. Seeing that the poison gas had no effect on Quintus and watching their leader defeated in a single blow, the remaining minions trembled in fear and had no will to fight.

After Quintus swiftly took down a few more of them, the rest scattered in all directions.

“Wow, sir, you’re amazing!” The young girl gazed at Quintus with admiration. He had single–handedly wiped out an entire Five Poison Sect hideout!

“Heh, now do you believe I can save you?” Quintus, enjoying the praise, cradled the weakened, poisoned girl in his arms. “Let’s get out of this cursed place!”

Fortunately, the poison wasn’t too potent, and once the exited the cave, Solana and the others slowly regained their strength. Quintus, however, remained utterly unaffected from start to finish, showing that the poison skills of these minions were not very strong

As Quintus led the group of women down from the stone forest, Mackenzie and the rest of the Wolf Warrior Unit arrived with reinforcements to meet them.

“Quintus, are you all right?” Mackenzie asked with concern. “We received Solana’s emergency distress call and rushed over immediately. What happened?”

“Haha, do we look like we have any problems?” Quintus boasted, then recounted the events to Mackenzie. The women, too, praised him as their hero, which only made Quintus feel even more elated.

“Quintus, you did a great job. In their eyes, you’ve become a hero, and you’ve taken down a prominent member of the Five Poison Sect, achieving our goal,” Mackenzie complimented him before adding, “But don’t get too complacent. This might be the beginning of the real battle. The minions who escaped will surely report back to their headquarters, and we can expect retaliation from them.”
