Chapter 200
The Cherished Wife
Chapter 200
Ronald noticed Xavierâs hesitation and offered a solution. âHereâs what weâll do. Iâll have my
assistant give you the script. You can take it back and discuss it with Ms. Shaw. But Mr. Harris, you
should also know that Ms. Shaw probably offended someone high up, which is why everyone is
attacking her.
âFrom what I understand, her endorsements and projects have been canceled, and her current
agency is giving her the cold shoulder. The only way to resolve this is for her to bounce back by
taking on a TV show.
âBy staying in the public eye and producing new work, the previous issues will eventually fade
away.â Xavierâs expression darkened. He knew the impact of Winterâs situation. Despite his
reluctance, he had come to Charles as Joseph had suggested. He understood that only Charles
could help.
âAlright. Iâll take the script back and discuss it with Winter. Iâll get back to you as soon as possible.â
âI look forward to hearing good news from you, Mr. Harris,â Ronald said, closing the project folder
and handing Xavier part of the script. âI hope the news will be positive.â
Xavier left the Collosus Group building, where Winter was anxiously waiting. She had insisted on
coming along despite Xavierâs objections. As Xavier approached, she rolled down the car window
and asked, Xavier, how did it go? Did Charles agree to help?â
Seeing Winterâs anxious gesture from a distance, Xavier felt a pang of discomfort but suppressed it.
He walked over and handed her the script.
Winter looked at the script in surprise. âWhatâs this for? I asked if Charles agreed to help?â She
knew that Charles did not have a good impression of her.
Xavier frowned. âDonât you see what this is? His tone was sharp..
Winter sensed his irritation but said nothing. She brightened when she saw the script. âIs this for
me? From Charles?â
âCan you stop saying âCharlesâ every second?â Xavier snapped, growing impatient. âYou know your
situation. He didnât explicitly agree to help but gave me this script and asked if youâd take the role.â
âOf course! Iâll take it!â Winter agreed without hesitation, not even looking at the script. She knew
that since the scandal broke, she had lost many endorsements and offers. Her company had
sidelined her, and if this continued, she would disappear from the public eye, which was
unacceptable to her.
Winter craved the spotlight and enjoyed being the center of attention.
âThis is my big chance to make a comeback. But who are my coâstars?â
âI donât know,â Xavier replied, frowning. âI donât understand your industry. His assistant just said that
the lead roles have been cast, but theyâre still looking for the second female lead.
He asked if youâre interested and gave me time to consider. If you agree, you can audition, though
itâs just a formality. If you accept, the role is yours.â
