Chapter 2111
My Wife is a Hacker
âAre you sure everythingâs alright? Whyâs your face so red?â Lulu asked, stretching her hand out in an effort to feel Nicoleâs forehead for a fever.
After ducking away from Luluâs hand, Nicole replied, âIâm fine, really. Itâs a little hot today.â
âHot?â Lulu looked over at the thermostat, through which the temperature for the air conditioner had been set to the lowest.
Nicole then followed Luluâs gaze. âHow could I find such a lame excuse!?â
âNicole, youâre not feeling hot. Are youâ¦shy?â Lulu discovered in surprise, seeming to understand why Nicole looked a little off.
Overwhelmed by an instant surge of embarrassment, Nicole went ahead and protested, âNo, why would I be shy?â
âOh.â Lulu frowned, thinking for a while before nodding.â Youâre right.â
Finally, Nicole heaved a mental sigh of relief as she saw that Lulu did not press on with any further questions. âOkay.
Thereâs nothing wrong with me, you can go do your work.â
âOkay, then Iâll be off nowâ Lulu turned around and left the office.
Once again, Nicole unconsciously recalled her dream from the night before, and when she did, her face flushed a deep shade of red once more.
That train of thought was only derailed when she heard a knock on the door, allowing her to snap out of it and say,â Come in.â
Lulu opened the door and entered before placing a document on Nicoleâs desk with a serious expression on her face. âThere seems to be a problem.â
âWhere?â Nicole opened the document suspiciously, skimming through the contents with her eyebrows furrowed.
âNicole, whatâs the problem? I was called over by the presidentâs secretary. The look on her face was a little weird when she said this is for you. So, I brought this over immediately.â
Luluâs face was twisted in a panic, as she could sense that things were not right from the look on the presidentâs secretaryâs face.
An icy glint suddenly flashed in Nicoleâs eyes, âSomeone is deliberately causing us trouble again.â
âTrouble?â Lulu became puzzled, but in less than a second, she understood that Nicole was referring to Dillon and Damien.
âDamien.â Nicole uttered slowly as her eyes became even frostier.
âWhat did he do?â Luluâs expression changed immediately.â Is it because of yesterdayâs stock fluctuations? But it didnât harm the branch company, so why is he starting a fight in an empty house?â
âHe reported us to the police.â The corner of Nicoleâs mouth curled up as she snickered. âOnly he would think of something as devious as this.â
Luluâs eyes widened in shock. âHe reported you?!â
âWhat are we going to do? Why did he report her?â Lulu panicked.
âItâs okay. You may return to your work,â said Nicole composedly. âSince he wants to take it out on the main branch, Iâd like to see him try to obtain any solid evidence.â
However, Lulu was still worried as she asked, âAre you sure everythingâs okay?â
âYeah. Itâs all nonsense, anyway.â Nicole placed the document down after she had read its contents, paying it little to no mind.
âIf Dillion had discovered that it was Nolanâs fault, I would have to think of someone who has appeared to be more competent than Preston seems to be. But now, heâs suspecting that the main office has messed with his stocks. Itâs completely absurd. Not even I would use this silly method to deal with them,â she thought.
Relieved when she saw how confident Nicole was, Lulu nodded and agreed, âOkay, if you need anything, do let me know.â
Nicole watched as Lulu left. Then, she glanced at the document once more, sneered, and picked the phone up to make a call. âSteve.â
âI saw the document,â Steve said, cutting to the chase.
