Chapter 2477
My Wife is a Hacker
âShe sure has a lot of nerve, taking over DillCorp like that!â Damienâs voice rose sharply.
âWell, Grandpaâs aware, and Preston doesnât seem to care,â Everett replied, sounding indifferent.
Hearing this, Damien grew more irritated. âDoesnât anyone object? Have they all lost their minds?!â
Everett lowered his head, silent for a moment. He knew Damien was just venting. âIf Grandpa doesnât oppose whatâs happening now, maybe he wonât oppose my future actions either. Do othersâ opinions even matter? This might just work in my favor.â
âNo way, we canât let this go. Wasnât it Nicole who first brought up the idea of splitting up the company?
And now sheâs simply taking over DillCorp?â Damienâs face darkened.â If Dillon and his team didnât manage well, that doesnât mean Nicole should get it all. We all have a stake in this.â
âSo, youâre thinking of talking to Grandpa?â Everett asked casually.
Damien took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. âIs there any point in going to him? I mean, itâs not like heâd help. If anything, Iâd be lucky not to get an earful from him.â
With a curious look at Everett, Damien asked, âSo, whatâs our next move? You seem to have something in mind.â
âIf we canât have it, we might as well destroy it.â Everett shrugged. âThen nobody wins.â
âDestroy it?â Damienâs eyebrows knitted together. âWouldnât that be a waste?â
âIf we donât act, DillCorp will just make Spencer even stronger,â Everett elaborated. âDillonâs no longer part of the Riddle family. Snowâs in a hospital and might not wake up. Raineâs gone missing, James is behind bars, and Preston? Heâs siding with Nicole. Given all this, do we even have a shot?â He stared intently at his father.
âSpencerâs already taken the main company, and now everything from Dillon too,â Damien thought.
âWith Stanley on his side, where does that leave me?â He looked at Everett.â So, what should we do?â
Eager to use his father Damienâs influence rather than his own resources, Everett shared his plan. It would also give him a safety net to fall back on.
âAlright, you always know what to do,â Damien said. âTil leave this matter to you then.â
âDonât worry, Dad,â Everett responded, excited about the responsibility.
âGo on then.â Damien motioned for him to proceed.
As Everett nodded and left the room, Damienâs expression darkened. âDillon tried to outdo me, and look where it got him. Spencerâs on top now, and Dillon has nothing. Theyâll soon realize the price of crossing me. As the oldest Riddle, I shouldâve been the one in charge. Nobody will rob me of that right.â
As the afternoon sun shone brightly, Nicole and Lulu chatted in the office after their lunch.
âJune said sheâs free today and wants us to join her for pizza near the Royal Creek Institute later,â Lulu said. âYou in? n âSure,â Nicole agreed.
âWell, June said no plus-ones. Sheâs calling it our âGoodbye to Singlehoodâ party,â Lulu said, her eyes filled with glee.
Nicole looked amused. âGoodbye to Singlehood? Only you guys would come up with something like that.â
âNow that weâre married, things will change a bit,â Lulu replied, her cheeks pink with a mix of excitement and embarrassment. âSure, weâll hang out, but it wonât be the same as before.â
