Chapter 2478
My Wife is a Hacker
âAlright, letâs meet there after work,â Nicole said.
âSounds good. Iâll tell Spencer he doesnât have to pick me up, â Lulu replied. She then sent Spencer a quick message.
Similarly, Nicole informed Jared she would be having pizza with June and Lulu after work and suggested he go home first.
âAlright, I need to get going. See you later,â Lulu said.
As she stood up and left Nicoleâs office, Nicole went back to her work.
When it was time to leave, Nicole and Lulu left DillCorp, caught a cab, and headed to the Royal Creek Institute.
âYou know, the three of us havenât hung out there in about five years,â Lulu said. âAfter you went missing, Nicole, it was just June and me visiting from time to time.â
âItâs hard to believe itâs been five years.â Nicole sighed. âSo much has changed, but at least weâre still best friends.â
When they arrived at the restaurant, June was already there, motioning for them to join her. âCome sit here!â
âYouâre early,â Lulu said, guiding Nicole to sit down.
âI live closer,â June replied, handing them menus. âOrder whatever you like. Iâve got it!â
Lulu chuckled. âWell, in that case, Iâm not holding back.â
âEnjoy!â June said with a playful wave of her hand.
After ordering, June added some beers to the list. âWe should celebrate tonight! Weâre all getting married soon, after all.â
Nicole laughed. âSounds like you think marriage means we wonât be free anymore.â
âWeâre getting hitched. Why not have some fun tonight?â June said, sticking out her tongue.
Soon, their food and drinks were on the table. âCheers to our final single days!â June said, raising her glass. Nicole and Lulu joined the toast, clinking glasses and sipping their drinks.
While pouring more drinks, June said, âLetâs have a blast tonight.â
âYouâre acting a bit off,â Lulu teased. âGetting cold feet about the wedding?â
âItâs just tough getting both of you out for dinner with your schedules!â June laughed. âSo, letâs enjoy tonight to the fullest.â
Lulu teased again, â1 thought you were having second thoughts.â
June shot her a playful glare. âIf you arenât, why should I?â
Nicole smiled softly, watching Lulu and Juneâs playful exchange. Memories of their school days, when they did everything together, filled her thoughts. It seemed like only yesterday they were inseparable. And now, these close friends would soon be her sisters-in-law.
