Chapter 2479
My Wife is a Hacker
âItâs been five years, and you two havenât changed,â Nicole said, smiling at the pair. âEven when you both become part of the family, I bet youâll still tease each other.â
Lulu started to say, âWeâre used to it. Weâve always beenâ¦â She paused, her eyes widening. âNicole, do you remember now?â
âJust some stuff from school,â Nicole said with a casual smile. Though she still struggled with gaps in her memory, recalling her school days was a hopeful sign.
âThatâs great!â June and Lulu exclaimed. Memories from school were a start, and they were hopeful more would return.
âLetâs toast to Nicoleâs memory of school days!â June exclaimed, preparing the drinks. As the night went on, they chatted, ate, and felt the buzz from the drinks.
âOne more round!â June declared, refilling her friendsâ glasses. But before they could even sip, someone swiftly took their glasses away.
June reached out in the direction her glass had vanished, but caught nothing. âHey! Give it back!â she exclaimed.
âYouâve had enough, youâre tipsy,â a voice said, sounding a bit annoyed.
She blinked. âSamuel? Is that you?â
âCome on, time to head home,â Samuel replied, lifting June into his arms.
âHey!â June said, kicking her legs and almost causing Samuel to drop her.
He held her tighter. âQuit squirming.â
âHey, let go!â June snapped, held tight by Samuel. âYou better watch out. My boyfriendâs no joke. Heâll come after you, you know.â
âSheâs had too much,â Samuel said, chuckling. He then scooped her up again. âIâll get her home.â
âNicole, since Juneâs gone, Iâm heading out too,â Lulu said, rising unsteadily. She felt disoriented, vaguely aware that June was no longer there and that someone had offered to drive her home.
Lulu tried to walk but stumbled. Instinctively, Spencer reached out to steady her. âIâll take you home,â he offered gently.
âIâm good.â Lulu pushed him away, attempting to stand firm.â Just watch.â However, her legs gave out.
âWatch out!â Spencer quickly caught Lulu before she could fall to the ground.
She bumped into his chest, her eyes filling with tears. Lulu cried out in pain and looked at Spencer.
Spencer sighed. âIâll carry you home,â he decided. âThereâs no way sheâs walking on her own.â
Nicole glanced around, realizing there were only two of them left.
âLooks like weâre the last ones,â she said, giving Jared a small smile. Although she felt a bit tipsy, she noticed June and Lulu leaving with Samuel and Spencer. âReady to head home?â
Jared gently scooped Nicole into his arms. âLetâs head home,â he whispered.
