Chapter 11
The CEO's Amazing Ex-Wife Is Back!
Chapter 11 Chapter 11 âKaren...what are you doing? Put your clothes back on. Kris chided sternly despite his drunk voice as he looked away.
Karen refused, stepping closer to him. âKris, I can make you forget, I promise. I can make you feel better.â
She took his face between her hands, trying to kiss him, but he shoved her away. Karen wouldâve fallen if she hadnât held on to the edge of the bed for support.
Kris was glaring at her as he shook his head. His vision was becoming blurier and blurier as sleep beckoned. âKaren, I appreciate that you helped...me see the kind of woman Tha**a truly was, but nothing like this can happen between us again.â
Straightening, Karen was frustrated. Sheâd thought in this state, he would be so vulnerable that he would take what she was offering him. Yet he wasnât even looking at her.
âPlease...put...on your clothes...Karen.â Krisâs voice slurred.
He bent down, trying to pick the dress up from the floor for her, but the world spun in front of his eyes. He felt like **it. Now he wished he had listened to his friends.
He tried to straighten, but he felt too weak and instantly slumped onto the bed, his soft snores filling the room.
âF**k!â Karen cussed, gritting her teeth as she realized that her plans were in shambles.
Or was it?
A smirk curved her lips.
Krisâs head felt like it was being split open from the inside as he slowly woke up the next morning. Just as he was about to groan, he froze when he realized that he wasnât alone in his bed.
A body was resting on his chest.
A naked body judging from the skin-to-skin contact. He soon realized that he was also naked.
As soon as he looked down and saw an equally naked Karen beside him, he jolted away from her, startling her awake. While he was still staring at her in disbelief, she flashed him a sleepy smile.
âGood morning, Kris.â She whispered in a sultry voice. How was your night?â
âKaren, what are you doing in my room?â
Her smile stretched further. âIs that a trick question?â
She reached out her hand, attempting to cradle his face and kiss him. Immediately, Kris scooted out of the bed with such sharpness that an ache tore through his head.
Once the ache subsided, he looked around at his clothes sc**red all over the floor and quickly grabbed his boxers, slipping them on.
âKaren, what happened? How did we end up...â
+25 BONUS Chapter 11 He trailed off, shutting his eyes tightly, unable to even say the words. God, he hoped this wasnât what he was thinking.
âEnd up making love?â She completed for him, smiling coyly. âYesterday, Alden and Henry brought you home. I was worried by the state you were in, so I came to comfort you. Then you suddenly started kissing me. One thing led to another. Why? Donât you remember?â
Karen held her breath nervously as she waited for him to speak. She was praying that he had been too drunk to remember what actually happened last night.
Kris tried hard to remember what she was saying. The last thing he remembered was being brought home. by Alden and Henry and his mother chastising him for getting drunk. When he tried to remember more, his head only ended up aching more.
He grimaced. âKaren, are you sure we...
He trailed off, unable to even complete it.
Karenâs eyes widened with disbelief as she got up from the bed. âKris, what does that even mean? Are you saying that Iâm lying about us sleeping together?â
She sounded so hurt that Kris ran his fingers through his hair. âIâm sorry, Karen, but I donât remember what youâre talking about.
And please cover yourself.â
âWell, it did happen. And it was the best moment of my life.â Karen cooed as she walked her still naked body towards him.
Kris turned away from her and said more sternly, âPlease cover yourself, Karen.â
âOkay fine.â Karen finally grabbed the bed sheets and wrapped it around herself. Once done, she stood behind him and asked, âSo what are we now, Kris?â
Kris stiffened, and regret filled him. He couldnât believe heâd allowed something like this to happen, and the worst thing was that he didnât even remember.
Shutting his eyes briefly, he slowly turned to face her as he spoke, âLook, Karen. I hope you understand that this shouldnât have happened. Iâm so sorry. I never meant for this to happen-
âBut it happened.â She cut him off. âAnd it mustâve meant something. Remember when we nearly made love?â
Kris blew out a breath. âThat was several years ago and we were teenagers. I told you that I only saw you as a friend.â
Karen smiled bitterly at the memory. That night, sheâd been so happy that Kris had finally noticed her, but before things could go any further, heâd stopped her and told her this was a mistake and he only saw her as a friend.
Not wanting to seem desperate, sheâd also agreed that it was a mistake. Sheâd spent so many years still loving him but he never noticed her again despite her efforts.
Just when sheâd thought things were going alright, that d**n Thalassa had stolen him from her even though she was the one who introduced her to Kris ed: She admitted: âI never got over you hu +25 BONUS Chapter 11 again, but I thought after what happened between us last night, things would change between us.â
âNo, what happened doesnât change anything between us, Karen. You know I donât have any feelings for you, I still only see you as a friend. âHe told her straight to her face.
Karen was pained, her smile dropping. âI canât believe youâre saying something like that to me after you slept with me!â
Kris had been trying to be reasonable, but now he felt annoyed. âSlept with you? Weâre both adults, Karen. If anyone has to complain about being taken advantage of, then it should be me because I was drunk and you were sober enough to have stopped it from happening but you didnât, so donât make it sound like | took advantage of you.â
With that, he grabbed his shirt and trousers from the floor and stormed out of the room.
Karen was left dismayed with disbelief.
Outside the room, Kris put his trousers and shirt on in the hallway before heading downstairs. The rest of the family was at the dining table.
âEw, you look like a mess, bro.â His sister, Susan, commented.
Kris didnât respond. He was just about to head towards the door when his mother called out.
âWhere are you going son? Wonât you have breakfast with us?â
He shook his head. âNo. See you later, mum.â
âWait. Since that ex-wife of yours hasnât come for her stuff, Iâm going to ask the maids to move them to the storage-*
âNo!â Kris cut her off sharply, startling her, âI donât want them moved.â
His motherâs expression dropped. âBut Kris, you have to move on. And itâs not worth having that womanâs things around you.â
âWe can talk about this later, mum. I have to go.â Kris said and immediately walked past her.
He didnât know why the thought of Thalassaâs stuff being moved bothered him so much. Heâd been warting for her to call for her stuff, but it had been three days.
Why hadnât she called yet?
Remembering what happened with Karen, his guts twisted. He hadnât freshened up, but he just needed to get out of the house This was ridiculous. Why did he feel like heâd done something wrong against Thalassa when sheâd never cared about his feelings while betraying him?
