Chapter 122
The CEO's Amazing Ex-Wife Is Back!
Chapter 122 Chapter 122 +25 BONUS Thalassaâs brow rose slightly as she looked at Clark, waiting for his reply. Clark already had one prepared.
âItâs simple. I just had a hunch. Thalassa already told me everything you and your family did to her. And knowing how important the awards show was, I had a feeling one of you would try something again. But I must admit, I was quite disappointed to find out it was you. I thought you were better than that.â
Krisâs blood was above boiling point now, his fists clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned white. The only thing preventing him from punching the hell out of the man was that Thalassa was standing between them.
âJust get out of here, Kris,â Thalassa finally spoke again, her expression hard. âBe the man you claim to be and accept your deeds for once in your life instead of always finding someone else to blame.â
Kris was pained, knowing she thought so low of him, but he couldnât give up.
âThalassa, please, I just want to protect you. Heâs not who he seems to be,â he said, looking at Clark, his jaw clenching. âHave you told her? Have you told her about the fact that every woman you were with while you were away in Ireland ended up supposedly committing suicide while you ended up with their fortune?â
Reaching into the inner pocket of his suit, he pulled out the file containing the report and handed it to Thalassa.â Here, you can read it yourself. Three women, all millionaires, all connected to this bastard somehow ended up dying and he ended up getting their money.â
He waited for the look of surprise or at least curiosity on Thalassaâs face as she briefly glanced through the report without taking it from him, but there was none as she replied, âI donât need to read anything. Clark has already told me everything about how he lost the women he loved.â
Kris was taken aback, but it didnât take long for the surprise to wear off as he sneered. âHow convenient that he tells you just as I receive this report.â
Now he felt even more furious. He had no doubt that the bastard had heard from his contacts that he was being investigated, which was why heâd rushed to tell Thalassa his version before Kris could.
âYou had no right to go digging up anything about me,â Clark said. âAnd why did you come here, Kris? To mock me for my pain?
For the loved ones I lost? I knew you were many things, but this is just cruel of you.â
Fuming, Kris looked at Thalassa. âLassa...â
âYou just keep stooping lower, donât you, Kris?â She shook her head, her eyes filled with disappointment that felt like a stab to his chest. âWhat do you want? To persecute Clark for losing the people he loved?â
Kris shook his head. âI donât know what this bastard told you, but doesnât it seem even a bit suspicious to you? You know Iâm right, Lassa.â
He could see the doubts in her eyes, even though she was refusing to admit it.
âThe only thing I know is that I want you out of my office. Now,â she hissed.
When he didnât move, she stormed toward her door and opened it, speaking to Juana. âCall security right now, Juana. And tell them that under no circumstances are they to allow Kris Miller into my company.â
âNo need to. Iâll leave on my own,â Kris said, his voice filled with bitterness.
Looking at Clark, he saw the smirk on his face. It was the smirk of a man who thought heâd won.
âThis isnât the end of it, Morgan,â Kris promised, before turning and walking towards the door.
He looked at Thalassa, waiting for her to stop him, to tell him that she believed him, but she only stared back at 1/2 +25 BONUS Chapter 122 him coldly. Gritting his teeth, he walked out, hearing the door click shut behind him.
Inside the office, seeing that Kris was gone, Clark felt that this was the perfect opportunity to flame Thalassaâs anger even more.
âAre you okay?â He asked, stepping closer to her.
Thalassa nodded, though her expression was unreadable. âYes.â
âI canât believe Kris would be that cruel, using the people lost to try and make you doubt me.â He said, suffusing his expression with the saddest look he could muster. âHe just made me relive those memories all over again, and it hurts so much.â
He expected Thalassa to be moved by his âsadnessâ. To hug him or at least say some comforting words to him, but she said nothing as she continued staring at him intently.
Clark frowned, suddenly feeling nervous. âIs something wrong?â
âI briefly scanned the report Kris was holding. You only told me about two women, but in the report, there were three. And why didnât you tell me about the money you received from each of them after their death?â Thalassa questioned, her serious expression telling him she was waiting for an answer.
