Chapter 36 “Goodness gracious, Karen! What happened to your face?” Aunt Cynthia exclaimed as soon as Karen walked into the house.

“Don’t tell me it was that stupid bitch,” Tyler hissed, his face contorting in anger.

“She gave you your share too?” Susan said.

Karen didn’t respond as she made her way to sit on one of the couches, but they all knew the answer to Tyler’s question.

“The marks on your face look horrible,” Cynthia commented, her voice filled with disgust.

Karen glared at her. “Why, thanks for making me feel so good about myself.” She looked at Susan. “What do you mean by my share?”

Susan turned her head to show Karen the mark on her cheek from Thalassa’s ferocious slap. Then she pointed at her mother’s cheek.

Karen’s eyes widened, not believing that Thalassa had laid a hand on Linda. “Where did she get so much boldness from?”

www “We need to do something to put her in her place,” Aunt Cynthia said.

“But what?” Karen whined bitterly. “I wanted to press charges against her, but Kris told me that since I went to her office, she could just tell the police that I attacked her first, and she’d get away with it.”

Linda, Karen, and Cynthia sat fuming in silence, especially Linda, who was still reeling from how Thalassa had humiliated her like never before.

“We know what to do,” the twins, Tyler and Susan, said simultaneously.

All eyes turned to them, and seeing the mischievous looks in their eyes, Linda asked, “What are you going to do?”

Tyler smirked. “Just trust us, Mum. That bitch is going to regret messing with us.”

By nighttime, a video had gone viral and taken all of Baltimore by storm. It was a video of Thalassa Thompson slapping Linda Miller and her daughter Susan, leading to the three women falling down.

It was followed by an anonymous message that read:

This woman is Thalassa Thompson, who betrayed the Miller family while being their daughter–in–law three years ago. She was exposed and arrested. Now she’s back to take revenge on the Miller family for exposing her. She’s the owner of TT Fashion and has been sabotaging Miller Fashion. See how she just slapped the queen, Linda Miller, unprovoked! She needs to be canceled.

The video only began from where Thalassa slapped Linda, and it had no sound to give context to what was being said, but netizens immediately took the side of the Miller family.”

As soon as Luisa saw the headlines, she immediately rushed into Thalassa’s room. “Lassa!”

Thalassa was startled. “What is it?”

“Have you seen the trending news?” Luisa asked. When Thalassa shook her head, Luisa immediately handed her phone over to her.

Thalassa saw the video and read through the headlines. It felt like three years ago, with the whole world against 1/3 Chapter 36 her, calling her a whore, a gold–digger, a disgraceful woman. Some were calling for her to be canceled while others were outright wishing for her death.

“Who posted this?” she asked calmly.

“It was posted anonymously, but I’m sure the Millers had something to do with it,” Luisa said before remembering something.

“When you slapped Susan Miller and the women fell down, I saw Tyler Miller holding his phone. He must’ve been the one who recorded it.”

Luisa bit her lip pensively, wondering how what she was reading was affecting Thalassa, but to her shock, Thalassa burst out laughing.

Luisa frowned, wondering if her best friend was going crazy. What was there to laugh about this?

“After all the threats of making me pay, is this really the best they’ve got?” Thalassa said while still chuckling.

“Lassa, this is serious. Our stocks have begun to drop and several customer orders have been canceled. Why aren’t you worried?” Luisa questioned.

“No, the question should be why are you worried, Luisa?” Thalassa scoffed. “Have you forgotten where it took place? The reception has several cameras that can prove what really happened. Everything is going to be fine.”

Luisa heaved a sigh of relief, finally understanding why Thalassa was so calm.

Today was a long day, Luisa. Let’s rest. Tomorrow is another day.”

The next day at the Miller mansion, Kris stormed down the stairs towards the breakfast table with a gloomy look on his face as he held his phone in his hand.

“Eh, someone’s in a bad mood,” Susan commented hesitantly.

“Who posted the video?” Kris demanded.

He was just seeing the video of Thalassa attacking his family online, and for some reason, he was not happy about 1. it.

“Which video?” Tyler questioned.

Kris glared at him and gritted out, “Don’t play the fool, Tyler. You know which video I’m talking about.”

It had be I been posted anonymously, but he had a feeling that it was one of his siblings.

“Answer me. Who posted it? Was it you or Susan?”

“They were the ones who posted it, so what?” His mother suddenly said, shooting to her feet. “They’re only doing the right thing by exposing that woman for how she humiliated us so that everyone can see the kind of savage she is. We thought that you would deal with her, but you didn’t so why are you upset that your siblings did?”

“Your mum is right, Kris,” Aunt Cynthia said. “Why does it feel like you’re defending that woman even after how she treated us?

Look at what she did to your wife!”

“I’m not....I’m not...” Kris blew out a harsh breath.

He shouldn’t be upset at his siblings, but seeing all the brutal hate and death threats against Thalassa online had made him feel an inexplicable anguish that someone could actually do something to her.

“That bitch,” Susan suddenly exclaimed as she looked at something on her phone.

“What is it?” Tyler said and immediately rushed to look too panic instantly crossing his face.

“What are you looking at? Let me see,” Kris said as he reached his hand out.

“No, it’s nothing,” Susan said, attempting to pull her phone away when Kris bellowed, “Give the fucking phone to me, Susan!”

Susan immediately handed over the phone to him, and Kris’s jaw clenched as he watched the footage on the screen. It had been posted by Thalassa’s own social media account.

Once the video was done, Kris looked up at his family. “What is this? Didn’t you tell me that Thalassa was the one who attacked you first?”

He glared at them, his eyes burning with fury.
