The Alpha & Beta’s Regret – Chapter 102

Jack POV

He was watching West prowl around, continuously looking at his watch. He understood the man now had concerns over Luna Jo-anne. Both he and Rafe had tried to tell him she would be fine, but he wouldn’t settle. He’d seen the man’s eyes glaze over briefly many times.

Either he was getting shut out by his own Mate or he was being blocked by the witches. Allen had taken a seat in the Alpha bar along with the rest of them and had struck up a conversation with both West and Terence. Likely he was trying to waylay any fears they had over his Luna being out there in the woods alone with their three witches.

She had been gone now for well over two hours, had missed dinner, which Allen had told them, Hannah would provide the Luna with a meal. She was a fabulous cook. This had not settled the man either. He just stared at Allen.

“Terence?” West muttered.

“Nothing West.” Came the reply.

“Perhaps, Allen, you could take West to his Luna?” Rafe offered.

“No.” Allen replied simply with a slight shake of his head.

West actually growled right at the man, he and his wolf both showing their displeasure at the man’s unwillingness to aid him.

“I’m not even allowed right this minute.” Allen informed everyone.

The whole room was looking at him now and he shrugged, “I can show you what happens if you like. If we try to go there, it won’t help you and just annoy my Mates ‘put me right in the doghouse’.”

“I want to speak with Jo-anne.” West snapped.

“Alright, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.” Allen got up and Jack watched as the two of them headed out of the bar. He was curious himself as to what Allen meant. He’d never known Allen not to be allowed to go there. Knew he got told to stay here sometimes and he did actually do as requested, he likely learned the hard way to do as was told.

He looked at Terence. “You and Jo-anne are kin? Does she also have the coven markings, like on your arm?”

“Yes.” He nodded.

“Are you?”

“No, I was gifted to her, a protector of sorts by the moon goddess herself, as is my understanding of it.” Terence stated “As for her mark, like your witches, runs down her back. Though it is smaller, only from her neck to the middle of her back, unlike your witches, where it runs all the way down their spine.”

“Interesting,” Rafe mused. “What answers do you suppose she is out there to get?”

“That could be anything.” Terence sighed “Jo-Jo, as you are all aware, lived on her own for ten long years…” shook his head. “is still a little head strong…”

“Yes, once out in the human world, it’s difficult for them to come back into and abide by pack regulations, once more.” Bradley nodded “Piper and Izzy both still stand and stare me down, then just walk off.”

Cooper chuckled softly “Walk off is an understatement, that Luna of yours stalks away from you.”

Jack watched as Bradley smiled and nodded “That she does.” Almost sounded like he liked it.

“Luci, kind of reminds me of Jo-Jo to be honest.” Terence commented, “You can’t make her do something she doesn’t want to do, and she does what she wants, regardless of what anyone else wants, even West or I. Often just states, much the same as Luci did ‘None of you can stop me.’ Or her favourite ‘Try and stop me.’ She knows that we can’t actually stop her, both West and I can catch her, but…” he sighed “the witches bloodline, I don’t know about that side, kind of just…Hell I don’t know, she just gets what she wants.” He shrugged.

Jack chuckled “I think Jo-anne and Luci will get along famously then.”

Terence finally cracked a smile. “Actually, the Luci I knew from before all this, was a lot like drunk Jo-Jo, who can’t hold her liquor or her tongue and whatever she thinks when drunk, just blurts out uncaringly.”

Many chuckled now “While West’s not here, you want to hear the fun of it?”

Everyone smiled and leaned forward now. Alpha gossip that was funny, intrigued them all.

“Jo-Jo liked to state West had a stick up his a*s while drunk, practically every time, before they got back together, Now.” Terence chuckled “when he gets all Alpha on her, she waves a stick at him and goes “Oh, look what I just pulled out your a*s.” Infuriates him, makes all of us laugh though. She’s a complete c***k up sometimes.” He chuckled.

Everyone in the room laughed too, that was just plain funny. Not many would taunt their own Alpha like that. Though he supposed out there in the wolfen world, there had to be Alpha females that were stronger than their own Mate’s and not afraid to stand up to them. Addison was a prime example of that. Luci would be like that as well.

He smiled to himself at the thought of Luci here as their Luna giving them both hell, or Alari staring them down. Felt Flares tail wag a little at the thought of being in front of Alari. He was still interested in that side of her, more so now than just yesterday even.

Though his wolf was still quiet on the subject of the choice was already made, Jack hadn’t really had a moment to himself to think about this wolf’s words as of yet. Maybe tonight he would get that time.

He watched as Brad took a call from Piper, got up and walked off to the other side of the bar, and just then West and Allen suddenly appeared out of thin air, in the Alpha bar, shocking everyone. Allen put a hand on West to steady him. “Breathe, Westley, it will pass.”

He saw West go green around the gills and Allen put a bin in front of him and everyone got to watch as the man vomited right into it.

“Ah, you get used to it eventually.” Allen clapped him on the back and took the bin away to dispose of its contents.

Rafe poured the man a drink and, to Jacks’ complete shock, he downed it in one go and waved to be poured another. He’d never seen West drink more than one and even then, when he did, it was over the course of an hour. Mostly the man just sat and swirled his bourbon in his glass, rarely drank anything.

“That was bloody terrible,” West muttered.

“What happened?” Terence asked.

“Nothing, walked into the woods, then just here.” He shook his head.

“No one gets in unless they allow it.” Allen stated, returning to the bar. “your Luna is fine, and will come back soon. That is the message I got.”

West nodded and sank down, though his eyes were on Terence, who just nodded at him and stated, “She’s fine West.”

“I guess I don’t have much choice but to stay put.”

“Correct.” Allen nodded “No harm will come to your Luna, I assure you.”

Jacks head tilted as Flare stood all the way up, at the feeling of Maria moving about upstairs “Excuses me, Gentlemen.” He smirked at Rafe “Game on.” He stated and was gone out of the Alpha bar, headed upstairs at more than his normal pace, let out a growl as he hit the fourth floor “Maria.” He growled “Come here to me.” Heard hurried footsteps and as he hit the Alpha floor, saw both Maria and Melissa out in the hallway, hurrying now towards the Alpha suite, they had been heading down the hallway towards the omega stairs it seemed, now were coming back this way.

Likely trying to get away, “I thought I could smell you.” he growled and shot off down the hallway at them, and allowed himself to bang right into the Alpha door seconds after it was closed behind them. Smiled to himself, they’d both looked suitably terrified. Mind-linked to his so-called Mate ‘I want you, don’t you want me?’

‘No, go away Jack, you’ll hurt me.’

‘Have I ever before?’ he asked.

‘You’ve gone insane.’

‘With need to have you. I love the new scent and it’s all around me, consuming me.’ He told her ‘I don’t know Maria, how long I’ll be able to hold myself back, hold Flare back, he’s all riled up and itching to f**k you, with all his Beta b***d, it’s boiling. He really wants to hold you down and just f**k the hell out of you, pound you good and proper.’

‘It’ll never happen Jack.’ She yelled at him ‘I will never let your wolf do that to me.’

‘That hurts us, you’ll love it. You are our Mate, made for us. Why deny our needs?’

‘You’re insane.’ She yelled at him ‘stay away from me’.

‘You know Maria.’ He smirked ‘I have the code for every door in this packhouse. Do you really think you’re safe in there?’

He felt fear come down through the mind-link and smiled to himself, felt her cut the link and let it go himself. Let her think he was done for a full minute, then re-established it ‘I can track your every move, with our tether to you. I’ll know every time you leave the room, and we are going to hunt you, get from you that which we want. All of it, I will not stop until we are good and satisfied.’ He told her, then let the link go.

Knew she would think it was s*x he was talking about, when in fact, it was actually getting some answers from her, finding out just what they had done to him and Rafe and how to undo it fully so they could have their lives back and finally be able to claim the woman they did love, Luci.

Be able to make her happy and cherish her for the rest of their lives, and they would. Luci was all they had wanted, and he still wanted her. He knew so did Rafe. They both still loved her.

He walked away back to the Alpha bar, smiled at Rafe. “Trying to leave, are now holed up once more, in your suite now though.”

Rafe nodded “How long before their father turns up, I wonder?”

“Not getting through the front gate, that’s for sure.” Jack smiled.

“Let me go make certain.” Rafe nodded and then he walked out of the room.

Everyone looked at Jack, and he just smiled, “Toying with our so-called mates, in an effort to get them to stay in the packhouse and away from Luci and the boys, till we get the truth out of them.”
