The Alpha & Beta’s Regret – Chapter 164
The Alpha & Beta's Regret
Jo-anne POV
Jo-anne had told both West and T.J. what had happened out in that other pack, that it had been Luci that had killed the two she wolves posing as Rafe and Jackâs Mates. Got what they deserved sheâd thought absently.
Theyâd been curious when shed come home in the wee hours of the morning, so she had filled them in when shed gotten up later that morning, had slept late and West hadnât woken her, figured she needed it. Knew sheâd had a long night. First with healing Piper and then helping to save the innocents of that pack and Hannah herself.
Shed never seen anything like it before in her life; the power that Luci had displayed, how she had actually looked for that matter, a scaled opalescent humanoid with the most amazing eyes sheâd ever seen. Her aunts shed really gotten to feel their magic that night too, had been tethered to them and felt just how powerful they were as well.
They were all so bloody powerful in different areas of magic as well. She could feel the difference between them all and she just knew if they were all in the one coven. It would be powerful. Likely due to their bloodline, of course, Royal witchâs, but still it had been amazing
She told them that Luci was a fully realised Triune now and that she had claimed her into the light witchâs kingdom. In order to save her from Hendrick, whoâd showed up and wanted to claim the woman for himself.
Then had to explain to them that Hendrick was Luci and Addisonâs kin, that was where their magic came from. That although it had been Hannah and her sister that had taken her out to that pack. It had been Luci that had blipped them all back here. Aalyiah had told her theyâd not taught Luci. how to do that, shed learned it simply by feeling them attempt to move her.
Sheâd spent some time with Hannah and her sisters before coming back to her suite, made sure that Hannah was going to survive, that she had seen Jack come for Luci, the way heâd knelt down on the ground and touched her face.
So gently and lovingly, that it had touched her heart, she just knew the three of them were made for each other.
Now, days later, they were together, marked and mated and she got to see them without pain, all three of them. Liked watching the way both Rafe and Jack held Luci, smiled at her. Everyone, not just her, could see how much they loved Luci. There was real love there, she could actually see it now; where the twins got their glow from. When Rafe, Jack and Luci were all together and smiling, they practically glowed to her, just like the twins did. Those two men lit Luci up from the inside out.
Everything she had come here to do, had now been achieved, it seemed. Luci and her mates were happy. Piper and the Whitlockâs were all released from their curse, and now all of them got to live normal wolfen lives. There was no more fear in Piper regarding her children.
Jo-anne had offered to take both Piper and Bradleyâs pain of their past away, but neither had wanted that. Had told her, it was that pain that made them who they were now. It was their shared past, and they were all good. Piper was smiling at Bradley a lot and the man himself was very happy.
They were having a daughter and, although Piper had been surprised by being pregnant. They were both happy about it. Shed heard Piper tell Bradley sheâd love to have a big family, as theyâd all gone up to bed tonight, and had turned her head to catch the look on Bradleyâs face. The man had actually teared up at hearing those words. Touched Piperâs face and murmured âI would love that too.â
It was clear to her why theyâd not wanted anymore than just Brandon and Winter, but now that was gone, and it seemed Piper wanted a whole litter, which likely stemmed from growing up alone.
She smiled to herself once back in their own suite, everything here seemed good, right this minute, but she still had to talk to Hannah about her vision. It had not escaped her attention that Hannah Aayliah and Giannahâs dresses at dinner this evening were no longer all pale blue.
It had also not escaped her attention that the dress they had put on Luci before Jack collected her had been pale blue in colour, but had changed to green and white. She wanted to ask a bunch of questions about that as well.
Sheâd been focused on Hannah at the time, sheâd been more important than a dress.
But shed also seen that Aalyiah and Giannah had stood and watched it change colour, had smiled even then just nodded their heads. She had a feeling those dresses they wore were imbued with some sort of magic, nothing that would hurt Luci obviously, so she had left it alone for the past two days.
She had taken a step back now and was letting everything settle. Addison was not yet convinced to come into the light kingdoms coven. Though seeing her upon her return, she too had unleashed all her witchâs bloodlines the same night Luci had. That was curious to her. Were they so well connected or was it a mere coincidence?
Had herself had a run in with Hendrick, that Warlock, it seemed had left the Winter Palace. He couldnât roam inside the Wolfen Kingdom without Christian knowing about it so had likely moved to the human realm.
Hendrick had obviously felt both of them come into their powers, had wanted to claim Addison, had told her he would claim what was his. Those words had made Jo-anne shudder. That warlock was going to be trouble for both Luci and Addison, she knew it and didnât like it.
That Warlock needed to be dealt with, though she did know Christian had shipped him off along with her so-called Wolfen grandparents. To the Winter Palace and they were not to leave the Winter Kingdom. It made her wonder if they had all used a portal to the human world where Christian had no connection to them or trackers of their movement.
Only knew that the three of them had been forbidden by him to leave the Winter Kingdom. They were not allowed to venture anywhere within the entire Wolfen Kingdom other than the Winter Kingdom itself, for 200 years. Her mother had told her the Winter Kingdom was small in size, maybe the size of Vermont, and it was always covered in snow.
Even in summer, the place was not warm.
She also knew that Hendrick was not allowed to be anywhere near her or her pack. All three of them were forbidden to ever go anywhere near Belinda and her children, Jo-anne especially. She was certain that Hendrick had just broken that law, though she also doubted that he knew she was there.
Then to have her lay claim on his own kin, and one like Luci. She was willing to bet he was furious. Shed heard from Addi that she and Silla had tried to take him out altogether, so she didnât think that Hendrick was going to be anywhere near her for a while. It would be clear to him she didnât want a bar of him. Though she did wonder if heâd known about Addison out there that he had a daughter? If so, had he left her alone all these years because heâd already seen she was not a bleeder? Could have been why he had taken to Addisonâs mother, to try and create one. He needed a wolf witch hybrid like herself. It was of course possible, heâd looked in on the child and tested her b***d as a baby. Or gotten some from her pack when sheâd gotten her wolf, who the hell knew.
But unleashing her power on Victor and his men, that had definitely been what had drawn his attention to Addison.
As much as it had Luci herself unleashing her Triune powers. She put a call in to her mother to discuss things
West and T.J. were sitting on the couch annoying each other, while West was trying to design a crown for her to wear and T.J. was hassling him and hindering him at every opportunity. She just shook her head and left them to it.
They were like two teenage boys sometimes
âMother, Hendrick was here.â She stated, âStood right before me, wanted Luna Luci and I heard he tried to claim Alpha Addison.â
âWhy?â
âAddison is his daughter, created the same way I was, so Luciâ¦â
âUnderstood.â Her mother muttered
âI have claimed Luci into the Light Witchâs Kingdom. Iâm curious, does that mean he canât touch her or come near her now?â
âHmm, Iâll have to think about it. Addison?â
âHas yet to decide, though she actively tried to kill him, he fled.â
âInteresting, likely without his full coven and the draining of their b***d all the time, he is not as powerful as he used to be. The power he gets from it is not likely permanent.
âHmm, I saw something.â
âImportant?â
âYes.â She sighed âWest is not going to like it. Nor is T.J.â she murmured as she walked out onto the balcony of her suite.
âWhat you saw? Can it be done without them knowing? Get yelled at afterwards?â
âLikely so.â She nodded âThough I donât like keeping secrets from West.â
âThen tell him, itâs not like he could stop you Jo-anne.
âNoâ she sighed and leaned down on the balcony railing âI know but heâll want some sort ofâ¦
â she trailed off as she
saw Hannah appear out on the forest line and look right at her.
âOffer him what he likes the most.â
âGoddess mother, youâd have to have the children for an entire day.â
Heard her mother chuckle âIâve got them now, no big deal on my end. Or you could agree to give him more children.â
Jo-anne g*****d âI just had a baby.â
Heard her mother chuckle, she was watching Hannah but knew she would wait until Jo-anne had finished her phone call. âItâs not you that the two of you donât want more children, Jo-anne. I know you do. Itâs Terence that has to suffer your childbirth, that hinders you wanting to give West more little ones, you know it. I know it. Hell, even West and Terence know it.â
She wasnât wrong on that, T.J. had stated âNo more JoJo.â After Anna was born, heâd not enjoyed the seven hours of labour pains before the actual birth, which also took 45 minutes to push that little one out. Unlike Jacob whoâd come fast, just two hours and he was there.
T.J. had not enjoyed it anymore than she had and even drugs had not really helped, poor bastard got it all. Theyâd tried cuffing him with silver, so Lark didnât feel it, that had not worked, and being a royal-blooded Alpha Wolf, sedatives had burned through him fast, theyâd tried many things, but nothing really worked. He was her protector and meant to know when she was in pain, it was that simple
Shed tried to will it away, wish it away. But nothing worked on that front. Who knew why? It worked for everything else she wanted. Just not on T.J. and a part of her thought it was simply because T.J. didnât want it to. He had been her protector all her life and wanted to remain as that on some level, so she couldnât take it away from him is what she really believed
It was the Goddess that had gifted him to her, and with T.J. not wanting to give it up, it was unlikely the Goddess would remove it from him. Was intervening and halting her on that one, she thought. That or at some point later in life she might get in trouble and T.J. would be the one to find her due to how he felt. She didnât really know.
Jo-anne ended her conversation and stood up âWest, Iâm going to speak with Hannah.â She called out to him.
âJo-anne.â had all heâd gotten out before she was blipped out to the forest line.
She sighed at Hannah, âAs handy as that is, could you warn me first?â
Hannah laughed right at her. âIt wasnât me, if it was youâd be throwing up.â
Come on Luna, we have things to do.â
