The Alpha & Beta’s Regret – Chapter 170
The Alpha & Beta's Regret
Jack POV
I was Sam when Luci woke him, he was draped over Rafeâs body and the twins had slept in with Addi and Silla in Addisonâs room. Which had allowed he and Rafe to pull Luci into their bed and spend several hours satisfying all her needs, which they had done, taking their time and shared the tasting and touching of her. Theyâd not sated their own needs at all until she was actually begging them to.
He felt Rafe huff as Jack got up off him, didnât seem to like it. Though he was off to training this morning with lan, and was even going to take the boys and give them a little hand to hand combat, while Jack went off with Luci, Addi, Allen and Hannah up to Kintla lake.
They would all be back hopefully by lunch time or here for the full moon when it set. Though they had plenty of new pack members that could possibly pair up tonight, none of the women had seemed particularly interested in it.
Too much pain and years of trauma to want to find a mate for themselves at this point. âGet up lazy bones.â Jack had chuckled softly at him. Neither one of them had, had to get up early since Luci had come back, neither one of them had run any training in the past week. It seemed Rafe didnât want to, liked sleeping in now.
Letâs get up and shower together before we go.â That comment had a lazy smile appear on his face and hed gotten his a*s up right away.
Though their fun had been interrupted by the boys running into the bathroom yelling âMamma.â They were awake and wanted to see her. They were clearly used to her being right there when they opened their eyes.
Rules were going to have to be laid down heâd realised, as theyâd had to both step back from Luci quite hastily; shed snorted in amusement as annoyance had rolled off not just him but Rafe as well, as she actually stepped out of the shower and snagged a towel to put on.
She had mind-linked to the both of them You two can have fun on your own now. And chuckled down at them both as sheâd escorted the boys from the room.
Getting their Mate alone was not going to be as easy as it used to be, he thought. Shed told them things would be different and she was not wrong. Those two little boys of theirs didnât know what boundaries were, and being part Siren, didnât seem to care either about walking in on them when they wanted their mamma.
âA door lock is needed.â Rafe had commented and Jack had simply agreed it was likely the best option. He could have that installed today.
Heâd been blipped out to Addisonâs lake, staggered around a bit and then just throw up leaning against a tree âI hate that.â He muttered.
âYouâll get used to it.â Allen had told him. The man was all smiles this morning, couldnât stop, it seemed. Heâd stood with Hannah, Allen and Addison as Luci had walked down
the Jetly
Hannah had blipped them right next to Addisonâs cabin and Addi had taken Luci in there, though theyâd come out after just a few minutes. It was small, just like the one Luci and the boys had lived in her realised. Seems they just didnât need space at all.
Addi had come out of there with her phone though, âI wondered who had it.â she stated, âStill got 5% battery even.â
Sheâd talked to Alari about all she knew of the lake, where the Sirenâs pack had liked to sleep from her recollection.
About the two children Torren, heâd be the eldest and Cadence the little girl. The other she didnât know itâs name, but did know that it would be a girl.
Hed watched Luci strip off and dive into the lake from the end of the jetty, and heâd seen her shift and Alari just swim away from them all. Left them to just sit or stand around and wait for her to return, there was nothing more they could do, but wait.
Heâd felt Addiâs hand on his arm sometime later and looked at her. Heâd barely moved from the end of the jetty at all, his eyes were on the lakeâs surface, he was looking for any signs that Alari was out there, nothing from where he stood.
âJack, may I ask you something?â
âOf course mother.â Heâd nodded.
She smiled up at him. âYou know, you and Rafe can just call me Addi right, you make me feel old saying that; were the same age. You know that right.â
Heâd smiled right at her, chuckled a little and nodded âWe do.â He liked calling her mother, liked knowing that Luci was her daughter and was finally theirs to love and the word mother. Well, thatâs just something they did without much thought. She was now their family, but if she preferred Addi then he would address her as such outside of pack formalities.
âIâd like you to take the crib back when we go, Lucian built it for Luci, I know itâs old andâ¦â
âItâs lovely and sentimental.â He interrupted her; of course he would take it back if she wanted it. âI also think itâs a nice thing for you to have.â
âNot for me.â Addi shook her head.
. âFor Alari, when she
wants to have a baby, something for her child to use and connect to their lineage. Itâs a bit late for the boys, but not the next child youâll have.â
Jack smiled down at her. âThat would be lovely, Rafe wants a little girl. Iâd rather have boys.â
He watched Addison smile and shake her head. âYouâll have whatever you get, there is no choice in that, likely all your children will be like the twins as well.â
âThen letâs hope they are all boys.â
âLuci may have been a handful Jack, but itâs just because of all the rules Orien put on her, around her inside of Nightfall.â
âYes, and I donât want to turn into him.â
Addison laughed now âYouâll never be like him, and with other Sirens around, Alari here to raise her. If you have a girl, sheâll be easier to handle.â
âI guess the pack members will also know who her mother is and likely be a little afraid, might keep their hands to themselves for that reason alone.â
âOh yes, theyâll be terrified of incurring their Lunaâs wrath 1 imagine, though Luci was never one to be angry.â He smiled now. âJust cheeky and mischievous, I bet Addi you have many fond memories of young Luci.â
âI do indeed.â
âWould you be willing to sit and tell us Luciâs tale? Your tale even, Iâm curious about how your life was, how you came to be here and met Lucian, how you fell in love with a Siren, what he looked like, because Luci looks just like you. Do you recall what Lucian looks like?â he asked.
âYes.â
âIâd be willing to bet you could get Jo-anne to paint a portrait of him if you asked her to.â
âIâm no so artistic that I could describe him well enough for her to draw or paint him.â
âSheâs a seer Addi, will only need to look inside your mind, or likely taste your b***d to find an image of him.â
She was just staring up at him now, must not have thought about it, his curiosity about Addiâs life was actually high and he would love to sit and listen to her story. He also thought Luci would like a detailed account of it as 04 120
wel
To like that to have a picture of him, but also for Luci to see him.â Addi nodded and he knew she was now really considering it.
TIl ask when I contact Damien in a few days.â
âDamien?â she queried.
âYes, heâs Westâs father and is the architect I have hired to remodel and design the new Alpha Suite, gutting a fair chunk of the other end of the packhouse. A new room well away from our old rooms.â He told her.
âProbably wise.â Addi nodded.
His eyes moved to Allen and Hannah and he smiled and turned his eyes from the view, their packs Gamma was sitting on the ground leaned up against a tree by the cabin, kissing the woman all slow and lovingly. Jack had never seen that kind of open display between them in the ten years that they had been mated to each other, they kept their private lives just that private. But it was nice to see such a loving and tender moment between them, damned near made him blush himself.
But it was really good to see that Allen wasnât just Hannah and her sisters, fun toy, as he claimed to be. That there was real love there, she was all leaned into him and that dress she wore was more dark blue than pale blue today as well.
Itâs very sweet.â Addi mind-linked to him.
Iâve never seen them like that ever.â He answered her.
Addison chuckled softly down the mind-link I thinkâ¦get used to it. It seems that nearly loosing each other has changed them a little.â
âOr just made them realise, time is short.â He smiled to himself âits very peaceful here Addi, he changed the topic â1 can see why Lucian settled here.â
âYes it is, you should see it in the winter covered in snow and then in the spring.â She sighed softly to herself.
You know Addison, you can come here anytime you like now.â He told her and she could with no further threats to her or Luci from Victor. She could do just that.
1 know and I likely will. Once I learn how to blip myself here, like everyone else can now.
Jack looked right at her tone, she didnât sound happy that she couldnât do that. âYouâll get there, Iâd say!
âHow long do you think this will take today?â he asked.
âAs long as it takes, Alari is in her fatherâs pack for the first time, meeting other Sirens, and they will likely recognise her right away, other than being female she looks just like Lucianâs Siren Talon.â
âThat must be nice for you,â he murmured softly, to be able to see her Mate so clearly in their daughter, that had to provide her with some comfort. He was definitely going to ask Jo-anne about looking into Addison to paint a picture of Lucian and maybe Talon to, they could hang it up somewhere in the packhouse or Addison could put it in her room.
âIt is,â she smiled and tugged him to sit down on the jettyâ We could be here a while.â
âHave you called Orien yet?â
âMm, I donât know what to do about him. I know we said we could regrow our bond, but with all the Sirens here, I want to be here. Orien was always jealous of Luci and my bond. I donât know how heâd handle my bond with Silla and all the others. How often I would want to be here? Itâs going to be complicated, to say the least. I know heâs safe and pulling the pack back together but have not agreed to go home at this point.â
âStill yet to apologise.â Jack nodded, âI hope heâs ready to not just apologise to you and Luci, but to myself and Rafe as well for all the disrespect we both got.â
She sighed âGood luck getting that Jack.â
âIâm not a Beta anymore, Addison. Heâll give it or Iâll send him packing before he unpacks if he is even allowed inside the pack. That in itself will be completely up to Luci, Kali and Alari.â
He saw her just nod, âFair enough, it is her pack now!â
âYes it is.â He smiled âOrien will have to deal with Luci, pull his head in and respect her at all times. Or she might just kick his a*s. Iâm not going to stop her either, just a heads up Addison.â
âUnderstood.â Was all she said.
