Passionate Homecoming

Caught Up in Between

BECCA

The next morning, I woke up because the sun was streaming into the room. I stretched my arms, keeping my eyes closed, wanting to prolong this moment—the emotions I felt last night. I was more than just happy or satisfied; I was loved.

Loved without holding back, without hidden motives or other people. Logan and I were together, and it became my new reality. I must say, I felt completely comfortable, like I finally belonged with someone who was meant for me.

God, my whole body ached. I had no idea what time Logan took me to his bedroom, but we didn’t stop caressing each other even there. The pace of our lovemaking changed from urgent to slow, from passionate to tender.

I gave myself to Logan’s mercy, and he rewarded me for it. He was a real magician, making me want more and more, making me feel daring. The things we did yesterday… I smiled and opened my eyes.

I was alone. Where was Logan? I heard my stomach rumble. Of course, I was hungry. The last time I ate was lunch at home before I left for the airport. Okay, I need to put something on and find Logan and the kitchen, but clothes will be a priority.

When Logan carried me to the bedroom, we were both naked. My suitcase stayed in the hallway. Well, then I just need to borrow something from his wardrobe. I sat up on the bed and looked around the room—it had light colors with gray and dark blue details here and there.

The blanket and pillows were gray, and I also noticed a black and white picture of Brooklyn’s Bridge in New York on the wall. There was also a bookcase, but on the shelves were not only books. There were photos. I wrapped the blanket around my body and stood up. I went straight to the bookcase.

I saw photos in frames and started smiling. There were photos of little Logan and Lily with their parents, pictures of Logan, Drew, and Tim in their teenage years. I also noticed myself in three pictures.

One of them was taken at the lake with Tim and Kate, Lily, Logan, and Drew, and me in a tight embrace. The other one was from Logan and Drew’s graduation, and I was standing between them with a happy smile on my lips.

But the photo that surprised me the most was standing a little behind all of them. You couldn’t even see it right away. I was alone in this photo; I was sitting at the table at Tim and Kate’s wedding. I was staring at something with a radiant smile on my face.

Probably, I hadn’t even noticed that I was photographed. My smile grew bigger, while butterflies in my stomach were going nuts. This photo meant a lot.

I turned around and walked to the walk-in closet. I arched my eyebrow in surprise because his wardrobe was huge—t-shirts, shirts, trousers, jeans, hoodie, and pullovers. I was like a kid in a candy store, and to think about it, it was only Logan’s clothes.

As a result, I put on a simple white t-shirt, and it looked like a dress on me, covering my butt completely.

Before I went outside the room, I looked at myself in the mirror. My hair was in total disarray, but it wasn’t something that could change my mood. I was happy, and it was visible on my face.

I closed the door behind me and heard music playing. It was Khalid and his ~Young Dumb & Broke~ single.

I walked into the living room and stopped, leaning on the doorframe. Logan, bare-chested, was sitting on the couch with his laptop on the table in front of him.

A vase with roses stood on the big dining table in the other corner of the room. I stared at my man, roaming my eyes over his impressive body. He was watching something on the screen of his laptop, tapping his foot to the beat of the music.

He looked so cheerful and relaxed. I chuckled, and he finally noticed me.

“Hey, sunshine, you woke up.” I nodded my head but didn't move. Logan stretched his hand out to me. “Come here.”

I came closer, and he pulled me onto his lap, hiding his face in the crook of my neck. I felt his lips touch my neck and closed my eyes.

“Your smell is so sweet…”

“Logan, I didn’t think to take a shower…” I pushed him away playfully. Logan caught my wrist and kissed my little swallow.

“I don’t care, Becca. I love everything about you,” he said. He took my chin between his thumb and index finger and kissed my lips quickly, but still very tenderly. “How do you feel?”

“Satisfied,” I said, staring into his eyes. His lips stretched into a smile. “Happy, but also hungry.”

“Oh, shit, you skipped dinner... When was the last time you ate?”

“Before I left for the airport, closer to midday,” I shrugged my shoulders.

“Almost a day! Rebecca!” Logan was adorable; he was worried about me. He placed me on the couch and stood up hurriedly. Then he stretched his hand to me, helping me to stand up as well. He pulled me to follow him to the kitchen. There he lifted me and placed me on the kitchen counter.

“Logan, what are you doing?” I laughed because I was very amused by his behavior. “Let me help you.”

“Nope. I want to be the one to take care of you.” He opened the fridge and took out eggs, bacon, and tomatoes. All of his movements were fast and calculated. I guess he was used to cooking. A man who could cook? What could be more amazing! “Do you want coffee? Cappuccino, maybe?”

I blinked. I was so lost in my thoughts, admiring him, that I hadn’t noticed that he had already started frying an omelet.

“How about juice?”

“I have an orange, a grape, and…”

“Orange juice sounds amazing,” I interrupted him. Okay, I needed to find a button to be able to stop him. After last night, I realized that he was willing to do everything for me. All I needed to do was just to say it aloud.

After I ate the food Logan made for me and took my suitcase to the bedroom, we went back to the living room. Now I was sitting on the couch, with my legs on Logan’s lap. We were talking about everything and anything at the same time.

Then Logan’s phone started ringing. He reached for it and stared at the screen. I was watching him. Why wasn’t he picking up his phone? I saw as he turned off the sound and tossed it back on the table. I was silent, but at the same time, I frowned. I couldn’t help it.

“Who was it?”

“Teresa.”

“What does she want from you?”

“I have no idea. I am not picking up her calls.”

“Why?”

“Because I don’t have any desire to talk to her. I thought I was pretty clear at Lil’s wedding.”

“Okay.” I averted my eyes and stared out of the window. I felt Logan’s hand move up to my thighs.

“Becca, if you want, I can call her back and tell her that I am with you. If it will make you feel better.”

“No, it’s okay. I know that you are being sincere with me. Just seeing you not picking up your phone in front of me…”

“Babe, are you still doubting me? I laid myself bare in front of you. If you ask for anything, even a star, I will give it to you. I don’t need anyone else. Only you.”

“I know, I am sorry…” I smiled, and he smiled back at me. “What are we going to do?”

“Well, I booked a table for us, and we are going to have dinner at my favorite restaurant. Tomorrow I will have to go to practice, but after that, I would like to invite you for a stroll…”

“A stroll?”

“To the shopping district.” Logan smiled at me mischievously.

“Logan…” I sighed, but my lips stretched into a big smile, no matter how hard I tried to suppress it. He took my legs in his arms and pulled me towards him. Luckily, I had taken the time to wear my panties. He made me straddle his legs. I placed my hands on his shoulders and looked into his eyes.

“You are mine, Rebecca Dawson. You are my woman, and you better get used to it. You can’t forbid me from buying you gifts, clothes, or even a car…”

My eyes widened a fraction. He can’t be serious. Just no.

“I know what that look means. And yes, Rebecca. I am dead serious right now. I will buy you a car. You will need it in a city like this…”

I didn’t let him finish. I kissed him, and his hands instantly wrapped around my waist. I bit his lower lip and leaned away for a second.

“What time do we need to be at the restaurant?”

“In four hours.”

“Okay,” I kissed him again and let myself be carried away.
