Chapter 1906
The Secretly Rich Man
Gerald Crawford: The Secretly or invisible Rich Man Chapter 1906
Contrary to the hustle and bustle of a typical cityâs nightlife, the second darkness fell, the entire village went dead silent. Everyone simply remained in their homes and turned their light sources out, not even bothering to go against the norm. They truly were living like people from ancient timesâ¦
Sometime during the night, Rey couldnât help but whisper, ââ¦Say⦠Mr. Crawfordâ¦? Do you really think weâll be able to find the caveâ¦?â
âWell, based on the chiefâs description, it shouldnât be too hard to find!â replied Gerald.
âI guess⦠I wonder if Tye and his men have left the cave by this pointâ¦â muttered Rey, a hint of worry in his voice.
âThey probably have. After all, even we were able to locate the exit rather easily!â said Gerald in a calm tone.
Gerald, for one, wasnât worried about Tye at all. So what if they managed to get out? Gerald and his party were pretty much always going to be a step ahead of them anyway. With that in mind, them catching up to the trio was improbable at best.
Then again, even if they did manage to catch up to them, it wasnât as though Gerald couldnât take on them.
Whatever the case was, after chatting a bit longer, the two finally decided to hit the hay⦠Not long after the sun began to rise, knocking could be heard on the trioâs door as the chiefâs familiar voice called out, âMorning, gentlemen! Are you all up?â
Upon hearing that, Gerald instantly got out of bed before walking over to the door. Opening it, Gerald then smiled subtly as he replied, âWell youâre early, chief Chuckling in response, Stanton then said, âAll of us here are just early risers! Regardless, Iâm here to tell you that weâre entering the mountain later. With that in mind, I wonder if youâd like to come along with us!â
âOh? But of course! Please give us a moment, chief! Weâll be packed up and ready in no time!â replied Gerald, now looking much more pumped up. After all, theyâd surely have a much easier time finding that cave with Stantonâs help.
âThereâs no rush! Also, Iâve already had someone prepare breakfast for you, so weâll only be setting off once youâve all had your meals!â said Stanton.
âI see! If I havenât said it already, we really appreciate being in your care!â replied Gerald in a gratuitous tone. After all, not only had Stanton personally come over to wake them, but he had even got others to prepare breakfast for them! It would be rude if he didnât show appreciation toward Stantonâs thoughtfulness!
Regardless, with that said, Gerald quickly woke the others upâ¦
Once they were done packing, they headed over to the village chiefâs house and had a lavish breakfast⦠This didnât take long, and soon enough, the party of three set off for the mountains with Stanton and his menâ¦
Being about three thousand feet above sea level, the mountain was considerably high and was rather difficult to hike. Had Stanton not been there to lead the way, Gerald and his party wouldâve surely had a much rougher time navigating the mountainâ¦
Even so, that didnât mean that the hike was easy. Rey himselfâwho wasnât used to hikingâcouldnât help but complain, âT-this hike is a bit too rough, isnât it, Mr. Crawfordâ¦?â
âIt couldâve been much rougher if we didnât have the chiefâs guidance!â replied Gerald, causing Rey to instantly shut upâ¦
